List of Benjamin Scallon's Reviews
I had a video appointment with him because I was recovering from a bad flu. My son called and said he tested positive for Covid and needed me to pick him up so he could quarantine. I called the office and asked if it could be a phone call instead because I needed to drive 3 hours and what is the difference, right? He said I needed to reschedule so I just cancelled. Doctors like him forget he is supposed to be helping people vs patients just filling his day at his convenience. So I’m still sick with the flu (day 18) not knowing if I should be concerned because he wouldn’t talk to me on the phone, waiting for another appointment (not with him; won’t try him again for his lack of bedside manner). I should have just gotten on the video call and not turned on my camera but I was being honest.
Dr. Scallon is a great physician. I receive excellent care from the doctor and his team every time I visit the office. He is a great physician because he listens to all of my concerns. If I have other issues that require other specialists, he is quick to provide the referrals. He is warm and genuinely care for his patient. I would definitely recommend him to people that I know.
Very thorough and friendly doctor. Beautiful office. Wonderful staff. Cannot recommend more.

Dr. Scallon is an amazing doctor that actually explains things during routine check ups. Would highly recommend.
Worst experience with a doctor's office EVER... After researching doctors covered under my network, I settled on Dr. Scallon based on his reviews and a video I found of him speaking on how he cares for patients as individuals. I live in Jersey City and made the trek to Long Island City because I couldn't wait to finally love my PCP! I hadn't eaten all morning in preparation for my annual blood work. Exhausted, starving, and making my way from Jersey City, my bus ended up at a STAND STILL in the Lincoln tunnel due to an earlier incident, and subsequent missed connections on the E train. I was relieved to only be 10 minutes late. Hate being late. But, at least, after all that, it was only 10 minutes. Doctors always make you wait, so I hoped all was well. After I gave my name, my apologies, and my appointment time, The FIRST thing out of the lady at the desk's mouth was "You are late. I'm not sure he will see you. Sit over there and I'll message him." I then waited in that lobby for TWENTY ADDITIONAL MINUTES before she called my name. I ran up to the desk. "Yeah, he won't be able to see you." She informed me that his next available appointment was TWO MONTHS away. I understand I was late, but where is the grace? How much time was allotted for me as a new patient!? Was it only 10 minutes!? How can being 10 minutes late mean I can no longer be seen at all. So I turned right around and made my way back to Jersey City. I feel so disappointed as I really wanted to see this doctor. A good doctor and great customer service aren't always synonymous but I can't help but be turned off from this place. God forbid I'm ever late again.
Very knowledgeable, great, real Doctor!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
