List of Healthcare Choices Long Island City's Reviews
I don't know why this establishment has so many 1 star reviews, but I've been nothing but impressed with the staff's friendliness and follow-through. They call and see you on schedule and they make sure that you're well taken care of. I highly recommend it!
This is a budget community health center. I don't have any insurance, so I went in to see the dentist to get X-rays and a consultation, and a prescription for some antibiotics for my gum disease and It cost me $100.$100 is the max price, they work on a sliding scale depending on your income. I'd recommend for simple things like cleanings and exams. It's budget care, but it is better than just not going anywhere. The dentist, assistant, and the front desk lady were all very nice.
Would give zero stars if I could. Absolutely disgraceful service. You make an appointment, and they call 1 hour early. Busy doing something else? Too bad. Alternatively, they also sometimes call 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours late. Fun. Won't call in Rx refills, no organization, no communication. Look elsewhere
I went here to see the dentist several times and would only recommend it for a dental cleaning. When the dentist actually did fillings on my teeth they were a disaster and I ended up losing one of the teeth. Half the time some vital piece of equipment is broken (the x-ray, the suction). I appreciate that this is a clinic and offers low-cost dentistry but other clinics do better- try the one in Chelsea.
I’ve been here a couple of timesFor dentistry work by Dr. Francis Barra. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place and won’t be returning. First of all, this clinic is in the middle of no where, Difficult to find. They never honor your appointment time. Every time I’ve been here I’ve waited atleast 45 minutes or more to be seen. For example today I had an appointment at 15:15, I came in at 15:00 and waited an hour and 37 minutes to be seen. The secretary Maria was on her cell phone laughing and chatting for about 40 minutes out of that wait. After she finally finished her conversation I asked when will I be seen since I have school at 17:00 and it’s been more than 40 minutes passed my appointment time at this point. She shrugged her shoulders and said “I’ve told you sometimes the dentist gets backed up” .... Hmm I didn’t like that response especially since she didn’t even try and ask the dental assistant or the Dr.Barra to at least give me a estimated time so I could tell my professor. After that I had to wait 40 minutes more, I even saw a lady who came After me be seen before me so clearly at this point I felt like it was being done on purpose. I’ve never had to wait for more than an hour for any doctor, Ever ( & it was closer to 2 hours with Dr. Barra). I never had braces or cavities growing up however this time around I required a few fillings on both my left and right side, top and bottom. What’s so weird about Dr. Barra is that he won’t do the procedure on you altogether. For example if you get X-rays done today, he will give you a cleaning and tell you to make an appointment for the actual fillings even though the purpose of the appointment it’s because of pain or discomfort. When you come in for the next appointment he only does one side, not the whole procedure together, leaving the remaining side with discomfort. So I had to make 2 separate appointments for my fillings when I easily could’ve had that done in one day. I believe this is done to get more money out of patients/insurances. On this day I had a deep cleaning and Again he only did one side! That’s crazy! On top of it all he mistakenly injected anesthesia In my tongue! In my tongue! I literally kept screaming for him to stop and he finally did and he asked “ what happened” after he had sucked his teeth. I tried to tell him as clearly as I could with half of my jaw numb and Now half my tongue numb as well. Never again.
Easy access for veterans
Waiting time is unbarable! If you're disabled or impatient this is not the place for you. I've waited 45 minutes twice and on the third I walked out.
I have been going here since I was a child. Never had a problem until now. The doctor I saw was Dr. Dilal, I believe. I was his second patient, my appointment was 8:40 I didn't get seen until 9:40. I'm in excruciating neck and shoulder pain. But he wants to talk about making him my PCP. To which I say I haven't decided and he tries to convince me. When I say I had wait a long time, he says "yes there is usually a long wait here". That maybe true later in the day but not in the morning!!!. In the end he prescribes muscle relaxers. I ask him for an MRI referral to rule out any tear or injury but he refuses. He'd rather I load up on meds
I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. When I called to make the appointment I informed the person that made the appointment with that I had a form for the doctor to fill in for the school that I am attending. UPON ENTERING THE OFFICE I HANDED THE FORM TO THE RECEPTIONIST; I TRUSTED THAT THE MEDICAL PROFFESSIONALS AT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE WOULD FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE FORM AND GIVE ME WHICHEVER VACCINES WERE REQUIRED. Two days after I received a call from the doctor's office instructing me to return to the center to have one if the vaccines that my form required that the nurse or doctor failed to give me. (I saved the message). I do not have unlimited amount of free time to return to the doctor's office numerous times. Today, Monday, February 25, 2019 (LESS THAN A WEEK LATER), I called the office in the morning to inquire as to when I could return to the office to receive the vaccine and pick up my medical form. I WAS TOLD TO COME IN TODAY (2/25) ANYTIME BEFORE 6PM. I arrived at the office at approximately 5pm; without an appointment because I was told to walk in without an appointment. I was told by the receptionist to wait in the waiting room until 6pm. At exactly 6pm, I was called to the reception desk and told that because I walked in over a week after my original appointment ; I would need to see another health care provider. IT HAS NOT BEEN A WEEK! I wasted hours coming in to the office. The form has not been filled out and the receptionist was rude and lied about my appointment being more than a week ago. Each time I come to this office something is wrong. It is extremely disappointing. Very unfortunately, I have to revisit the office tomorrow to have the vaccine and get the form filled out because I do not have time to find another doctor. My expectations are extraordinarily low.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
