List of Marvin Tankel's Reviews
A friendly efficient staff. A doctor who cares and is helpful.
The receptionist took all my insurance info and made the appointment, but when I came to the appointment they said that the appointment was cancelled and then that they don't accept my insurance. I've found the name of dr. Tankel on UHC website under my ID of approved providers and then the appointment was cancelled. Nobody called me about the cancellation
Dr. Tankel is a kind caring person.
Due to the outbreak of Corona Viris here in Brooklyn & NY Dr. Tankel M.D. helped me by removing a large cyst on my left leg. I did not have any medical insurance, needed his services badly. Hospital emergency rooms were not a safe place because of epidemic. I payed cash, and received the services of a great top skin doctor. I can recommend him to anyone in need of an experienced doctor. He was ...
Certainly knew his medicine, treatment always appropriate, but severely inhibited in speaking, either reluctant or incapable.
Nice guy, knows what he's doing, doesn't make you wait.
staff all they do is lie to people i wonder if the doctor knows this.thats why i found another doctor.
Office staff pulled the wrong file and when I pointed out that it was not my file she was argumentative. She also referred to me as "mamy". I am an a American adult female not a spanish senora. The Doctor was very nice but always seemed exasperated.
Until I found Dr. Tankel, I had a generally negative opinion of Dr. Tankel. He is a great doctor who always knows the most effective treatment for a problem. My husband and I have been going to him for many years and are highly satisfied. Only negative is long wait in thye office to see him but it is worth the inconvenience to be treated by someone who knows what he is doing.
I went to this office expecting a simple consultation. I waited 45 minutes for my appointment. I was with Dr. Tankel for 5-10 minutes. He poked my face with a tool a few times and wrote me a prescription. My insurance (BCBS) billed me for out-of-pocket costs of $160. When I spoke with a very rude woman on the phone regarding the fact that the Dr. charged me for a "consultation" as well as a "surgery procedure" I was told that the Dr. had billed correctly. I reiterated the fact that I was not informed that this would be anything more than a consultation and that there was no "surgical procedure" done. The woman was adamant that the Dr. had charged correctly. I still cannot believe that he had me in his office for only 5-10 minutes and I was charged for a "surgical procedure". This is unacceptable and I asked to speak to the Dr. as I was hoping we would be able to come to an agreement since him and I both know he did not do any "surgery". I am truly livid in the way my claim was handled and even though my insurance covered this doctor as an in-network Dr. they are making me use it towards my $150 deductible. Some people would claim this is the insurance but if the Dr. did not try to rip people off and pretend he did some sort of a "surgery" I would have been charged for a simple consultation - which is what it was. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone even if your insurance covers.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
