Went to this doctor for my acne and he he straight up told me to my face that my acne wasn’t that bad and just prescribed a cream. Belittling my feelings and my situation. I switched to a different dermatologist who set me up with proper medication and treated me with the respect I deserved as a patient. I would never recommend Dr. Dispaltro

Dr. Dispaltro was in the exam room for maybe 30 seconds. Asked me if I had any questions while he was already in the hallway leaving. I felt very 'brushed off'. He then left and a nurse informed me of what he had prescribed, which was a medication I am allergic to. He did not even glance at my chart. Will not be returning.

Would give zero stars if I could. Went in for a follow up for a staph infection (which was diagnosed not only through a lab test that was sent out by an urgent care clinic but also by another doctor at Advanced Dermatology)which I had been dealing with for over 2 months and was not clearing up. He walked in and I started to give him the background info. He was dismissive and told me to just tell him as he looked. He made it very obvious he was in a rush before we even started. He told me what he thought was wrong, a condition that was initially diagnosed (and unsuccessfully treated) but ruled out over a month ago later by 2 other doctors (see above). Any attempt I made to explain was dismissed. I told him about the lab test and he told me that basically urgent care doesn’t know what they’re doing because they’re not specialists. (I guess that must extend to medical labs as well). He told me that if I had what I said I had it should have cleared up already. (What did I just get done saying ?!) My skin issues began after I had covid 3 months ago and I TRIED to tell him about the medications I was on, one of which suppresses the immune system, but he was dismissive of that as well. He kept telling me it was my fault for not maintaining procedures for the condition I did not have. Some of the staph sores, which are very distinct looking, had spread to my face regardless of how meticulous I had been to contain it. He told me that it was acne from my face mask. (After 2 years of wearing a mask I have not had that issue and I’m 56 years old, I know what a zit looks like.) He rattled out the names of some prescriptions that he was giving me and left the room. I asked the assistant what they were, as he couldn’t even be bothered to explain. He prescribed an acne medication and a cream for the condition I did not have. I told the assistant (who was the more helpful and pleasant of the two) that that I had a problem with this. She brought him back into the room and he assumed the “let’s patronize the difficult patient” attitude. He asked me what it was that I wanted him to do for me. I told him and of course, I was wrong again. He said to me, who told you that that was what the problem was? I told him it was his colleague. He looked startled and looked at the computer. HE NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO LOOK UP MY HISTORY with Advanced Dermatology! (Or the lab results that the urgent care clinic sent over) At that point I was furious and gave up and told him to just prescribe more of what the first doctor prescribed. As I can see from other reviews, this was not an isolated incident. Never again.

Had a 9:30 scheduled appointment and waited 45 minutes before walking out. MY time is valuable too. It's not like a Dermatologist might have an emergency that backs every one else up. Improve your management skills!

Dr. DiPaltro is rude. He doesn’t treat patients with respect. He doesn’t listen to your concerns and has no patience for questions. He misdiagnosed my eczema as “sunburn”, even though I didn’t have sunburn and haven’t had sunburn since I was a young child! He is by far the worst doctor I’ve ever been to!! So glad I switched dermatologists. I don’t know how Dr. Dipaltro has any patients. He’s THAT bad!

Dr Dispaltro is rude and nasty and is not knowledgeable. He will clearly misdiagnose a condition and get nasty when you question the ridiculous things he says. He doesn’t or likely can’t answer your questions and will get very nasty when you ask them. Absolutely the worst doctor I’ve ever been to!

He is rude. He misdiagnosed my eczema as “sunburn”. I wasn’t out in the sun at all., He is nasty when you question his erroneous diagnosis. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about and is extremely rude and NASTY! He should not be a doctor! I don’t know how he has any patients at all!

Doctors are supposed to serve their patients. I was rushed out of the room, my concerns invalidated, and he didnt even give me the opportunity or ability to ask my questions. The biggest red flag was when he prescribed me medication that is widely known to cause birth defects and is strongly discouraged for those who are family planning. He didn't look at my chart, didn't even ask me if I was currently pregnant or planning on becoming, and did not discuss any of the vital information regarding this medication with me. If I wasn't a googler or even slightly informed, I never would have known. I did not pick up that prescription, and I will not return.

I love Dr. Dispaltro. He always makes good suggestions, is very knowledge and has a great bedside manner. He's polite and nice. I've visited him here several times and once in Queens. All of them were positive experiences. A little bit of a wait time in Queens but nothing dramatic, maybe 10 minutes. Regarding the other negative review I see listed here on Google: Doctors get flooded with patients all the time, everyone needs to learn to speak up regarding any questions they have, otherwise they will assume everything was answered. I think Dr. Dispaltro is a nice guy. If I forgot to ask something, which has happened, the assistant will get him back into the room for me. It's never an issue. He's busy, that means he's a good doctor because people continue to see him. Also, the receptionists are always very friendly and helpful. It makes for a nice experience all around.
