Dr. Shaer has been a HUGE asset to our family for over 10 years. She has been amazing with all three of my children from birth to now. She helped guide me through the early stages of infancy, including breastfeeding, and every stage since then. She takes time with us, we never feel rushed. She addresses all concerns and takes pride in making all of the patients and their families feel comfortable. I trust and value her opinion and we hold her in a very high regard!!

I took my newborn to Peconic Pediatrics. After not latching during breast feeding we were concerned and Dr. Rich at the practice told us he might have a tongue tie and recommended we see Dr. Shear. We saw her. She barely sat with us 10 minutes. No eye contact, rushed us through the appointment and told us our son was fine and no tongue tie. We saw one other doctor at the practice, doctor Friedfeld. He also told us no tongue tie. Fast forward to a month ago. We take our son for his 15 month check up at a new practice. NP tells us our son may have a tongue tie. She refers us to Dr. Scott Siegel in Huntington/NYC. Our son DID HAVE A TONGUE TIE. Dr. Siegel told us he has seen SEVERAL patients who were mis diagnosed from Dr. Shaer. Now I have to do horrible post surgery stretching exercises EVERY 3 HOURS ON A TODDLER. He is screams and looks at me like “why are you hurting me?” I have to do this for FOUR WEEKS. Had Shear done her job, this would’ve been corrected at a much easier stage.

Wonderful pediatrician! I switched my daughter to her when she was a couple months old and I couldn’t be happier. Now all 3 of my children see her. She’s kind, caring, and takes the time to know her patients.

You are told you can see her for well visits, sick visits you see whomever which is okay. But she never has well visit appoitments or the office staff tells you it is with her and SUPRISE a different doctor walks in.
