Admitted to the hospital for a Crohn's relapse. My usual GI was unavailable. Dr Patel was on call. Over 4 days, I saw him a total of 3 minutes, very few words were spoken & he did nothing to treat my Crohn's or the unrelenting pain that didn't allow me to take anything by mouth nor did he continue my meds from home even though I asked frequently. On day 5 another doc changed my meds & I improved. For over a month after discharge Dr Patel & his office solicited me several times a week, trying to get me to schedule an appointment. Repeatedly, I informed them that I had a GI doc & did NOT need a new one. This was highly unusual behavior, I have never been solicited by a doctor before. If I did need a new GI, Dr Patel would NOT be it. I choose doctors that listen, communicate & welcome the patient to be part of any decision.

Dr. Patel was very focused, informative and answered all questions. I felt comfortable with him and he was friendly and spent time explaining my condition to me. Excellent doctor.

We have the best and kindest Doctors, Dr. D. Patel being listed here is great and works with a team which includes Dr. J. Podeszwa, Dr. S. Leidner and Dr. B. Patel who has just jointed the practice and can handle Pancreatic and Liver Diseases.

Dr. Patel puts patients at ease with his knowledge and compassion. His team members are always prepared and communicate well with each other and with the patient. He takes time and never makes a patient feel rushed, when they are asking and answering questions. (I feel disappointed when reading a response from someone who had a miscommunication with the nursing staff and gave a negative review of Dr. Patel, himself. )This is a competent professional who treats each person with dignity and respect; having an appropriate sense of humor lightens a more serious experience.

Dr. Patel was extremely kind when he had to tell me that I have cancer. I am so grateful he found it so that I can receive treatment.A blood test was taken in his office on my way out which now seems unnecessary, because shortly thereafter I saw my oncologist (that Dr. Patel recommended) and that office took their own blood tests. Also, the office is very good about letting you know beforehand all the charges for the colonoscopy, except for the surgery tray ($350). Fortunately my insurance covered this.Dr. Patel is a competent and caring doctor.
