After an initial misdiagnosis that delayed care, and might have resulted in needless spinal surgery, Dr. Toro was consulted and correctly diagnosed an orthopedic problem. He immediately ordered MRIs of the knees and operated the next day. I don’t know the details, but discovered later that because of the initial delay my situation was dire, and only through Dr. Toro’s unhesitating and heroic efforts, my prognosis is excellent. Dr. Toro, an orthopedic trauma surgeon, is respected and revered within the hospital community, as well. One technician told me that when Dr. Toro orders certain tests they push everything aside to accommodate him, because he makes no frivolous demands, and every request involves a grave and consequential incident that requires the greatest speed and accuracy. Quite literately, the staff I spoke to are in awe of him. He is straight and to the point, and acts without hesitation. I can’t tell you how fortunate I am to have been treated by Dr. Toro.

Dr. Toro performed a surgical repair of a wrist fracture on me recently. He is a very skillful surgeon, straight forward communicator, and explained his treatment plan clearly. His associate Daphne ACNP, is very kind and competent. My functional outcome has been and continues to be excellent. Thankful I was referred to him.

We were sent to Dr.Toro from our local ER after having an accident which needed surgical intervention. We initially met with his PA, who was excellent.Everything was explained, the office was more then helpful throughout everything. Dr. Toro is an excellent surgeon, he did a very thorough job and was there to answer any questions. The only downfall I would have to say is he is a little arrogant. He was a little sarcastic regarding wearing a mask (for COVID safety) he went head to head with my brother who was there to support us(as my brother) (my brother is in charge of COVID policies at the hospital),was asked nicely to put his mask on &then not as nice when he didn't. As if hes above wearing a mask but he did so when it came right down to it. As a surgeon and practitioner I would never hesitate to recommend him to anyone at times his personality can be a little much. He knew what he was doing, extremely thorough in his outcome and expectations for follow up & very good at his job.

My mother-n-law Rayna Howell had a very bad fall this past April. She broke her arm and Dr. Toro did her surgery. We were very happy with the care he gave her and would recommend him highly.

I broke my hip in a fall on Thursday afternoon and arrived in emergency at the Garnett Hospital late afternoon. Dr. Toro came to see me in emergency well after 6pm, and let me know that I would need surgery asap. He not only opened space for me for the following day, but contacted my cardiologist to get an immediate approval to go ahead. He said that if he could not get the approval in the morning, he would come in on Saturday and do the surgery. He told me I would be up and back to all my activities in two months. It is now less than two months and I am back to most of my activities, walking without crutches or even a cane. Dr. Toro helped me get the best Physical Therapy. He even showed me a movie of the x-ray of my surgery. The surgery is state of the art. He inserted a 10" titanium rod in the femur with screw to repair the fractured head of the femur and a nail with great precision. He told me the surgery took less than 13 minutes. His follow ups (two since the surgery) also good.

Dr Toro was excellent with my healing of a broken wrist and an elbow in which needed surgery. His explanation of the procedures and my future outlook were spot on. I would highly recomend Dr Toro .

I am an RN and met Dr. Toro in the hospital after I fell and fractured my femur while at work. From the first meeting in the OR he was amazing , straight forward and able to gain my trust. Fifteen weeks after surgery I am back to work and doing the things that are important to me and I attribute that to Dr. Toro's skills. I would and will highly recommend him to my friends and family.

Dr. Toro is an Excellent surgeon and works with superior support staff. I had a complete Achilles tendon rupture (3 years ago) and Dr. Toro performed my surgery. He made what many health professionals who saw my surgery called a beautiful & strong repair. Bottomline - I can not even believe it but, at 50 years old - I am back to all the normal heavy-duty lifting, surfing, skateboarding, and even snowboarding. After the surgery he (and his staff) were appropriately tough on me about pain management and getting back on my feet when needed - compelling me in a very smart way that appealed to my particular personality. My feeling is that not only is Dr. Toro a good medical doctor but, he is socially intelligent and knows how to get his patients motivated and in the right mindset for recovery.
