Dr. Walker always takes the time to see how you’re doing, and he goes over everything with you. I always appreciate his care & professionalism. My experience with Dr. Robert Walker at Crystal Run Healthcare was BEYOND horrific. I’ve been sick and dealing with a hiatal hernia and severe GERD/acid reflux and have done lots of testing and tried all of the treatment options (meds, food, etc.). My original GI retired and Crystal Run recommended seeing Dr. Robert Walker. The brief appointment I had with him was the absolute WORST. He kept cutting me off left and right whenever I tried talking or explaining my symptoms- so much so I don’t think he even got to hear half of what I was saying. Then this man had the audacity to imply that it’s basically all in my head. His treatment plan? To just take it easy and relax. He told me that “positive thinking” (his exact words) will resolve my chronic severe GERD/acid reflux. He was gaslighting me and encouraging me to “just relax” and de-stress as a treatment. I have NEVER felt so invalidated by a doctor before and made to feel like what I’m experiencing isn’t real.

I’ve never felt the need to leave an online review for any doctor that I’ve seen, but my experience with Dr. Robert Walker at Crystal Run Healthcare was BEYOND horrific. I see reviews here that some patients are not happy with him. I am surprised to read that, but I do not know the specific circumstances involved. Early one morning I went to urgent care in sullivan county in severe pain .. they tried different treatments which did not help. By the end of the afternoon there, I was feeling much better, but the physician's assistant treating me insisted I go to the ORMC for more tests. I did not want to but she insisted and had an ambulance take me there. The team that saw me at the hospital included a general practitioner, a radiologist, a surgeon and Dr. Walker (for some reason I think there one more doctor but I can't recall). My test and lab results were not consistent with my symptoms and complaints .. lab results were basically normal .. no one was really certain as to what to do. Since there was nothing drastic in the results, they said I could go home the next day and see what happens. Dr. Walker was the only one who insisted there was a problem and he would not agree with what said. I had surgery and it saved my life ...literally!! I had surgery which it turned out I needed very badly. If I had gone home, I probably would have not made it ... and would not be here today, writing this review. This man saved my life because of his knowledge and convincing the GP and surgeon to listen to him and do the surgery. My test and lab results were not typical of my symptoms but he insisted and he was right! The organ that was removed was seriously much worse than they expected. Apparently I did not demonstrate classic signs, so I thank God that Dr. Walker was working that day. He saved my life, as well as the physician's assistant working that day at urgent care for letting the ambulance take me to the hospital. I owe my life to both of these people.

It was very professional

I was a patient of Dr. Walker for about 10 years. He did what he could, but when it came to the point he felt he couldn’t help me, then he didn’t listen to me. I broke down in his office and told him he was not listening to what I was saying about how I felt. From that day forward he would never see me “alone”, his nurse always had to be there. It was then I lost all trust in him and then I saw a different doctor in the practice. I remember he once said to me “if you saw a different doctor, in the practice, they would consult with me to help” guess he thought he was smarter than the other doctors.

Never took one note on my symptoms,screamed and yelled while I was on the phone with the nurse!Stay clear!

I am a 78 year young male who has a family history of all different types of cancer, including colon cancer. I have been going to Dr. Walker for many years. for a colonoscopy. He has always been very caring. I always have polyps removed, sometimes several. His office always calls me quickly with the results.

Promised he would be able to help me with my issue. That he would work with me and persevere in his efforts. Scheduled me for a procedure. Once that was done and BILLED, he no longer had any interest in helping me. Right after the procedure, he told me to keep doing what I was doing and offered no suggestions or possible treatment! When he called back after I called for biopsy results, he spent (no exaggeration) 10 seconds on the phone&! EMPTY CALLOS PROMISES!! AVOID!
