Winthrop Adult Oncology And Hematology Infusion Center's Online Review Report Card

We took my son here upon the recommendation of our pediatrician. Parking for emergency patients was not clear and we circled twice before we saw a guard in the booth to ask. I was surprised that there is not an actual waiting room, just a hallway lined with seats. We saw a check in nurse, then registration lady right behind her, then someone to do vitals. Then we were called back to a small triage room. We had to wait 20 min to go back to the pediatric er section. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in because the adult section didn't look so great as it was crowded and dingy. The pediatric er section was nice. We had a wonderful nurse who tended to all of our needs. We also had a pediatric resident doctor who was very nice and explained everything clearly. The supervising doctor stopped by to see us as well. Overall, as good as we could have expected given the circumstances.

The level of care I received was excellent. I had c-section here. My twins were admitted to the NICU. I had many people come in and manage my care. I thought everyone that I dealt with- nurses , doctors, etc were friendly, knowledgeable and listened to my concerns. I would highly recommend the labor and delivery section of this hospital.

My PCP sent me here after my MRI. I had a C4 vertebrae compression fracture caused by Plasmacytoma. Once Winthrop viewed the report, they immediately performed another MRI and CT scan. Admitted me immediately due to my serious condition. That same day a slew of nurses, techs & doctors visited me, put a neck brace on me and later the spine surgeon Dr. Derick Ju spoke to me about the surgery which I needed, or I could have been paralyzed. Did not have too much time to think about it, so with some several conversations with Dr. Ju and my wife I decided to have the surgery which he was able to do the next morning, Jan 29,2022 day of the snowstorm. Surgery went well even though it was very difficult surgery, luckily, I had Dr. Ju, was in post op for over a day because there were no beds available due to the snowstorm. For a day and half my nurse Carol took excellent care of me. She was awesome!! Finally got a bed and the next day I was released the day after.4 days in the hospital Friday to Monday. It's 2 a half months later, after oncology all came back negative and now PT I am doing well road to full recovery which can up to a year. From the time I arrived at Winthrop to the time I left I received awesome excellent care, kudos to the entire staff and Dr. Ju. I am so grateful to all for not only the excellent care I received, everyone was sympatric and generally cared that I would OK..I can now continue to live my life walking without any help. Yes extremely grateful!!!!!

If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. My brother in law went to Winthrop hospital on January 16th, 2022 for pain management, as he is a stage 4 cancer patient. When I tell you the ER here was beyond reprehensible that would be putting it mildly. It was the most excruciating experience ever in life. They left my brother in law In excruciating pain for 4 hours in a room alone. He was crying out in pain and they actually yelled at him when he slid off of the bed - IN PAIN. I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH about how poorly they treated him. He was left in a locked room with no interaction. No one checked on him for hours. He could have DIED and absolutely no one checked on him. Take my word - do not EVER GO HERE if you require actual care. I DARE someone to call me from this establishment because I will drop dates and times for them to review and identify the ER employees that worked on this day. It is a disgusting display of inept behavior from "Medical Professionals". CALL ME I DARE YOU.

Caring Professionals who know what they are doing , and care about your well being and comfort. . . . . I was there for 5 consecutive days for an I.V. infusion, each person - from check in to discharge- was kind and gentle. . . . I sat in a comfy chair with a Television, and a ginger ale. It was far better than I expected. . . They even have free enclosed on site parking.
