Alain J Derzie's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Derzie repaired a very large incisional Hernia for me. I put it off for years because I’ve had several surgeries and just couldn’t bear another one. During my evaluation visit with Dr Derzie I immediately felt as at ease. His confidence and good manner made me finally have this surgery done. I seen about 8 years and I feel great.

Not sure how anyone could have a bad word for this doctor not only did he operate on me but my whole family was put at ease by his willingness to take time after surgery to meet with each member of my family and assure them all went well compassionate and professional what else can be said .extremely professional

This doctor is a predator. He explains minimally if at all the costs associated with procedures he performs with no other options available, and then send massive medical bills and threatening letters. I would avoid like the plague he is.

Excellent service here! Been to a lot of doctor's appointment this past month, unfortunately. I came here for a post-surgery follow up since my surgeon is on vacation. From the first phone call for an appointment, the lady who picked up the phone was very nice and clear. She told me that this doctor is located in a house and that there is parking out back. Walking into the house from the front door, you have to guess which of the three doors is the correct one. (I guessed the door on the left and got it right the first time, whew!) On the day of my appointment, there was no wait at all. The nurse/clerk was very very nice from beginning to end. Dr. Derzie explained everything to me very clearly and the appointment went smoothly. He knew my case without me having to explain what surgery I had. He called one of the nurses into the room with me during my appointment so that I would be more comfortable. I was in and out of the office within 15-20 minutes. I would recommend this place for sure!

First Impressions Are Everything! (Can't give a zero?) I just wanted to give you a completely accurate story of my encounter with Dr. Alain Derzie, MD. I was referred to Dr. Alain Derzie by Dr. Nilesh Mehta, the office made the appointment for me assuring me they accepted my insurance. Going to see Dr. Alain Derzie, pull into the parking lot, I see a red, Corvette, with personalized 'BLAH-SURGN’ ….or something on the license plate. First impression, he's expensive, but maybe that means he's good! I fill out the paperwork, pay my $40 co-pay, they get me right in. Doctor comes in, talks to me and looks at my stomach for literally 53 seconds, says it's not serious, but you should have corrected. As soon as he tells me, I put on my shirt, we walk up to schedule surgery, a different nurse says 'we’re not in his network’.....I made the comment, well, never mind, the doctor says, there is another way to do this. Go to the emergency room, and we can have them pay for it. I thank the office, and leave…. As I left, i felt partially responsible for not double checking, but the referring doctor stated this doctor was in my network?? Having to now go to a THIRD doctor, in my network, and pay ANOTHER $40 ( $40 - Dr. Nilesh Mehta , $40 - Dr. Alain Derzie = $80 less than a week) seemed ridiculous because neither of these doctors did a thing for me. I called the office (Dr. Alain Derzie) said, uncomfortably, would you mind reimbursing me for my copay? Since it seems I was referred, incorrectly to you, and could use that towards a doctor in my network. The receptionist puts me on hold, speaks to Dr. Alain Derzie, comes back and says: 'Sir, we cannot give you your copay back but we won't be filing it with the insurance company!!’ …..these people think I'm an idiot, so this means at this point I've gotten nothing from either doctor, AND Dr. Alain Derzie refuses to reimburse me $40 of my very hard working money because….. why?? They knew they did nothing and this wasn't my fault (attached referral), it would CERTAINLY help me out financially, and it seems like the right thing to do!? But the doctor didn't give a damn. Score card so far: Dr. Nilesh Mehta: +$40 - referred to doctor Dr. Alain Derzie Dr. Alain Derzie: +$40 - NOT in network so unable to do surgery Michael M: -$80 - Still needs to find a doctor Moral of this story, do NOT trust Dr. Alain Derzie’s character as a person or a doctor. Clearly he has plenty of money, but needs to step on the unsuspecting, hard working stiffs like me. Michael M.

He lied to me and charged me or an ER procedure that cost me $11800. ( interest and fees ?)Even After my wife and I asked him if hdidn't take our insurance ! He smiled at us and said "nothing to worry about. It's an ER procedure" then sent me a bill. I . the courts garnish the money from my check since I refused based on the fact that I didn't select him and he killed my credit since he took too much money per month ! We have 4 kids and doubt that this$ would have hurt him like it my family !

This surgeon saved my life I was sent to hospital with ruptured Colon and Peritonitis Dr Derzie was there to reassure my family i would be fine Emergency surgery laparoscopic Spent 6 hours to make certain i was not going to have complications He made several trips to the family to inform them of my progress. while in the hospital he was aggressive in his reassurance that i would be fine and make full recovery. He is the most positive human being i have ever met He was sent as an angel

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had when dealing with a doctor! It's amazing to believe this kind of caring medical practice still exists in today's world! From the first phone call to the visit after my surgery (which by the way went perfectly thanks to Dr. Derzie's golden hands!) I highly recommend Dr. Derize to anyone who needs surgery (in my case it was my gallbladder and in my sisters case it was her colon!) THANK YOU DR DERZIE! You are he best!!!!

Dr.Derzie is a great surgeon, when he operated on me he made me feel very comfortable and I knew I was in good hands. His staff is amazing!
