Arthur Cotliar's Online Review Report Card

The staft who schedule the appointment are extremely IRRESPONSIBLE and UNPROFFESSIONAL. They called me three days previous to my appointment to tel me that I had an appointment that day, May 13, 2022, and that Dr. Cotliar will leave a 1:00 pm. They called me at 11:30 am. I told the person who called me that my appointment was for May 16, no the 13. I had to run to the clinic, as I just had cataract surgery, in my left eye on May 10, 2022. On May 13, I was given an appointment for June 9, to see Dr. James Kelly, Dr.'s Cotliar associate; and another appointment to see Dr. Cotliar, on June 30, 2022. On June 9, I went to my appointment with Dr. Kelly. The receptionist told me that I did not have an appointment for that day, that my appointment was for June 22. I showed the Dr.'s card with the appointment day, which was June 9. I was seen by Dr. Kelly that day; June 9. Today, June 27, I received a message in my telephone, indicating me to call Dr.'s Cotliar office. When I called they to

Hands down the best cataract surgeon in NYC. The nicest go, have sent quite literally hundreds of patients to him.

Dr. Cotliar came highly recommended by other corneal surgeons. I had a complicated case, with astigmatism and lens flattening, which required skill and experience. Dr. Cotliar did a wonderful job ensuring that I had the best possible outcome. He was kind and pleasant, answering all of my questions. I was willing to put up with the office staffing issues and several appointment changes that can be expected when you are a patient of his. Thank you to Danny, his assistant and Paola the surgical coordinator who work closely with patients.

He's a good surgeon with good technicians. His office staff in his new practice on Fort Washington varies. I had a two-hour wait for a post-surgery visit that lasted under 10 minutes.

Excellent result from cataract surgery, could use a shorter wait time in the office. Surgery itself was well organized and efficient.

Love Dr. Arthur Cotliar and his technicians, but the clerical staff is the pits....they don’t speak clearly, they are generally unprofessional in dealing with people, especially on the phones. The only other REALLY bad thing is that there is always a long wait ( like an hour past your appointment time at least ).

Dr. Cotliar is an outstanding professional with a well deserved reputation as an expert in cataract surgery. His office is a well run practice and his staff, especially Paola and Danny, are dedicated and pleasant. The first visit is time consuming and you should expect to be there a few hours as there was extensive testing done. My post op visits were much quicker.

Don’t schedule an appointment if you have anything else to do that day. The waiting room is full of people waiting 2+ hours for their appointment. They actually ran out of chairs because they were so behind, and this was still early in the day. Can’t imagine how long the wait is by the afternoon.
