Patricia Davidson's Online Review Report Card

NOT FOR THE TIMID! Dr. Davidson is competent and concerned. However very abrasive, rude, defensive and abrupt. She has her very strong opinions and doesn't hold back. If you're sensitive, find another cardiologist. If you're able to bypass the smoke, she will get your heart in shape.

Called her office and she was very short and extremely rude!

Dr. Davidson has been my primary care physician for almost 20 years and I think she is the best. She is very straight forward and tells you what you need to do to improve your health. She is an "old school" doctor who will call you to follow up rather than just talking to her staff. She will assist in making sure you are connected with other doctors you need to see. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the services I receive.

Dr. Davidson maybe an expert in her field however her bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired My last visit was one of the many experiences when I felt like she was talking to her child. I vow this to be my last visit. I left there feeling like I was trampled on. Is that the way one should feel leaving his or her Primary Care Physician’s office?

This doctor is condescending and rude. She has no communication skills and she made me feel so small. I tried multiple times hoping she was just having bad days but it never changed. She came highly recommended but I will never go back.

Public Interest Lawyer/Heart Attack SurvivorPros: An intelligent and experiencd Cardiologist with a successful practice located on the campus of Washington Hospital Center at Irving Street, NW D.C. I had an appointment at 1:00PM. I got their at 1:06 PM, and less than 15 mnutes later I was taken back by an assistant to complete paperwork and take my vitals. Doctor Davidson was helpful and thorough once she removed the focus from herself (See Cons).She has technical medical equipment in her office to help her make assessments of your health. The office was very clean.Cons: This Doctor has poor bedside manner. She was Impatient, Condescending, Abrasive, Arrogant, Argumentaive and Defensive.She accused me of not going on the Internet to educate myself about my heart problems. She was wrong. I actually found her on Google because I was looking for a black Doctor after I read up on heart attacks and heart disease.She insulted me because I did not bring all of the paperwork from my last 2 Doctor's visits. When I made the appointment, her staff only told me to bring the empty bottles of any previously prescribed medecine. So that's what I did. Contrary to popular belief, there is not a universal network that connects Hospitals and Doctors with patient information. So bring any paperwork you have from prior doctor's visits. I'm a lawyer, so I'm use to dealing with arrogant, lawyers, Judges, Prosecutors, Police Officers, etc. But this woman was a hoot. I found her somewhat amusing.Conclusion: Like the practice of law, this woman is not for the timid....you will see that in other reviews of her on the Internet. However, underneath her unrefined exterior, I think there is a concerned, caring Doctor who wants to help her patients. As a former Track and Field All-American and Penn Relays Champion, I'm use to being in shape. I need help getting back in shape...and I think this lady may be the one to help get me back into top shape.It was a rough first date...but I'm going to stick with her.:)

Excellent Cardiologist! She’s very enthusiastic about her patients! She provides details of every visit and is remarkable at following up with her diagnosis! Her staff are just as incredible as she is!!

Honestly I canceled the appt figuring if the staff is permitted to be this rude this practice is not for me. As a retired nurse I can't see why a doctor would allow staff to treat pt.s as callously as her staff treated me on my first call!

Dr. Davidson has cared for my elderly mother. I found her to be very thorough and competent. She takes time [as necessary] with each patient. Her first concern is the patient and the patient's well-being.

Dr. Davidson is very aggressive in her mannerism regarding in making it clear how serious diabetes is to the aging population. Because of Dr. Davidson's constant asking me the medication I am taking and questioning me about my numbers (A1C etc.). I am more involved in my health, monitor what I eat and exercise more. I believe she cares. And through the years she has lessened her stern manner in discussing my health issues with me. Sure it was had in the beginning to hear the truth.
