List of Seneviratne Aruna's Reviews
Dr. Seneviratne is the “go-to” ortho specialist within a VERY tight, athletic NYC community that consists of very smart, connected, health and performance-driven adults. Faced with a massive rotator cuff tear diagnosis last year, I saw Dr. “Aruna” as a second opinion due to three referrals from very trusted friends who all had him as a surgeon. Upon meeting, he immediately he strikes you as an experienced, smart, professional, passionate, supportive and human doctor who has nothing but your best overall health outcome in mind. Always punctual, present (so important) and never rushed, he took the time to discuss through all the details of the images, injury, options for care and expected outcomes. In short, he went the “extra mile” every step of the way. Most importantly, he did so in the surgery itself. His team and staff are great. If you really need care, reviews that worry about being a few minutes late or other small things are short-sighted… you don’t sit back and judge, you partner with a doctor to achieve a best possible result. As a team. If you're a team player and committed to your care, do not hesitate.
Dr. Seneviratne cleaned up my meniscus for me. He was so diligent in the surgery to find the root cause of my problem rather than just addressing the issue. He came and talked to me right after surgery explaining everything with pictures which was so helpful. I am excited for my post op visit and next steps to a healthy knee! I would 10/10 recommend him for any of your knee issues. Plus he has awesome bedside manners and very personable!
I went to Dr.Senevirante with severe knee pain. He ordered a bunch of tests, and was very thorough in reading the results to me. Very patient with all the questions I had, just all around informative and personable. I got a knee scope and repair of my torn meniscus with Dr.Senevirante, but in the very near future will need a knee replacement. The night after my scope Dr. S called me personally to ask how I was doing, and about my pain level etc. To me that was above and beyond, amazing patient experience.I am totally looking forward to Dr.Seneviratne being my surgeon for this procedure and have recommended him to family and friends who have any type of knee discomfort.
I had an appointment to go over my MRI results with Dr. Seneviratne. My appointment was for 4:45 p.m. on 04/7/2021. Obviously having an appointment in the middle of the day means I had to leave my job early which nobody likes. I arrive to the office at 4:53. And the secretary tells me “oh the doctor said to put you down as a no show. You got here to late.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I got there at 4:53, and he wanted to leave early to go drink himself to sleep? Does he know that my day was was totally screwed up and I drove an hour to get to his office ? No. He doesn’t. I got there 8 minutes after my appointment. (I had to wait an hour to be seen at my first appointment) I will never recommend anybody to come to this doctor. Who ever leaves after 8 minutes has no sense of decency and should not be put with the rest of us in society. Try everything in your power to not be seen by this doctor. It will save you time and stress.
I had an elbow surgery with him about 7 years ago, and it was the best thing I've ever done. My elbow pain is gone, and I don't even have to think about my arm/elbow area any more. I really appreciate Dr. Seneviratne and I feel lucky to find him. He's not such a doctor who rushes you to a surgery. He's always very patient and gives you full options before heading to that direction. I ended up having a surgery but it took months for us to reach the conclusion that I needed a surgery. If you're having issues in the areas that are covered by Dr. Seneviratne, he's your go-to guy. Look no further. I went to so many different doctors and no one know more than Dr. Seneviratne.
always had positive experiences with Dr S. himself, unfortunately wasn't able to get to him because of a horrible experience with the office.when originally making the booking on zocdoc i was shortly peppered with 4 missed calls from the office before they finally left a voicemail. i intended to return the call first thing in the morning as the voicemail was right at closing time. I guess 4 minutes (904am) was too long for them to wait as i was called again the next morning.apparently Dr. S doesn't treat wrists anymore and i explained the whole premise of my booking was because Dr. S had the history of my ailments from both his old and new practice. i was told they would see what could be done and try and retrieve the files from the old practice. i was assured i would be called back.after two business days with no callback i called and left a message for the person assisting me. i was told they would get back to me shortly.still no callback until the day before the appt when someone asked if i could come earlier in the day. i explained that i didn't know the status of the appointment because no one got back to me. this person said she would take care of it and get back to me by end of day.no one got back to me even into the next morning on the day of the appt so i just cancelled it on zocdoc and have made an appt elsewhere. now i have to wait several extra days before treating my ailment as i could not get an appt somewhere else same day.if i can't be treated based on what Dr. S does these days thats fine, but have the decency to follow through and call me back especially after calling my cell phone 4x before leaving a voicemail when it was them that wanted information from me at the outset of the booking.update 10/14/20: changing my review and rating:Dr. S personally called my mobile to apologize for the mishap and took full accountability. He offered to clear his calendar for the following day to see me at my preferred time which i took him up on. keeping with my prior experiences i had a positive visit with him and his staff and i commend him for handling the situation with professionalism and courtesy.
Dr. Seneviratne is amazing! He is very clear, thorough and reassuring on the visits pre-surgery, at the day of it and at post-op appointments. He transpire calm and confidence and always made me smile. He's a great human being besides being a great doctor. The office staff and nurses are very friendly and competent as well. I had nearly no wait time on every visit to the office. I 100% recommend Dr. Seneviratne!
There are not enough stars in heaven to rate the fantastic care and concern I received from Dr. Seneviratne, his office staff and O.R. "team!!!" My stay in the hospital post-op was nothing short of first class! From the moment I met Dr. Seneviratne I had no fears of two complete knee replacements! Now two months past the operations I can now walk and stand with no pain. I am a classical singer and my last concert I could not stand for my complete hour long concert let alone rehearsals.I can now walk for over an hour and yes "wiggle my toes" which Dr. Seneviratne successfully attached per Gods plan!Dr. Senerviratne is a fantastic Doctor and human being! BRAVO!!Linda Lane Smith
Doctor Aurna is a great surgeon he operated on my meniscus 7 years ago and it's still going strong. Dr. Aurna has just performed shoulder surgery on me and it's only been thirteen day's since the procdure and i'm already feeling great, considering that he has removed a bonespur and four tendon repairs. thank you so much DR. AURNA your the best surgeon I've ever had and I've seen a few in my day. keep up the awesome work that you and your team are doing. I also want to give a special thanks to dr. aurna's assistant STEPHANIE as she has been so helpful to me in answering all my questions and has guided me in the right direction when it came to all of my paper work and post operative care. THANK YOU DR. AURNA YOU HAVE A GREAT TEAM . THE LORD HIMSELF HAS PUT HIS SPECIAL TOUCH ON YOU! YOUR A VERY GIFTED DR.. THANKS AGAIN.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
