I was lucky to come across Maureen during a debilitating time when my lower back was jammed as I was entertaining my toddler in Fire Island (all about walking and cycling!). Her work did more than just provide pain relief and physical healing, it made me realize the lifelong commitment to understanding my anatomy and blocked energy pathways that have hindered my emotional growth as well- all due to the immense relief one feels afterward. It is like a promise. The more tight my muscles felt throughout the years, the less I felt « okay » in my life. I always knew that. But after a short session in Maureen’s haven on the deck of her FI space- it became a solid knowledge even though very few words were exchanged. Lots of intuitive healing took place and changed the trajectory of my healing path. I look forward to what the year brings until I can see Maureen again next summer. Thank you 🙏🏼

Maureen is a miracle worker. She fixed my stiff neck, my post-Disney hip bursitis, and my post-bronchitis breathing pain. She knows her stuff, cares about you, and takes away the pain.

Dr Tetelman has been treating me for several years now, and I consider myself very lucky to have found her! My husband and I both suffered with long Covid after catching it at the very beginning of the pandemic (the first week of school closures etc in 2020) and we were completely debilitated by it for months, until we started getting acupuncture treatment. After a few weeks of treatment we were regaining our appetite, balance and mental and physical energies. We both got back to our pre-pandemic selves, something which had seemed completely unthinkable a few months earlier. Dr Teleman has also treated me for numerous sport’s and martial art’s related strains and sprains, concussions, tightened Achilles tendons, tennis elbow, and on another note, an extremely acute case of stress-induced hives. I was amazed that she was able to treat me at all in the state I was in, because I could not bear to be touched by anything at that time. But Dr Tetelman managed to treat me painlessly and effectively, and it was a huge relief. She is also helping me tremendously with post-radiation related fatigue (as well as helping my emotional balance in dealing with a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment). The emotional reach of acupuncture to deal with anxiety, stress and (in my case, mild) PTSD as well as grief, has also been extremely helpful, leaving me mentally strengthened, grounded and energized. Especially helpful for being supportive for my family that I care for. Acupuncture Bodyworks is a very healing environment, and really easy to get to. Like a little oasis in the middle of mid-town Manhattan madness. One treatment room is like a day on a warm, gentle sandy beach, and the other feels like a mossy forest retreat. Also the essential oils and gentle music that go along with each treatment are very conducive to a relaxing, nurturing and healing state. And to add: I was rather hesitant the first time I tried acupuncture treatments (I don’t like needles at all in a traditional medical setting for vaccines or blood draws etc) but the experience of needling was very different and much less intimidating than I had imagined. Acupuncture has been an incredibly powerful form of healthcare! I highly recommend Dr Teleman!

Maureen is a spiritual healer and magic worker. I have been dealing with serious back issues for the past two years. I've had countless PT sessions, injections, courses of medicine, and even a spinal fusion surgery. While my baseline level of pain improved, I am far from "fixed". In recent months, I have been dealing with hip and groin issues as well. Maureen came highly recommended by a reputable yoga studio on the UWS. From my very first visit, Maureen demonstrated a great knowledge of the body. It takes her about 2 seconds to locate exactly what the source of the pain is and help release it through trigger point therapy. She resolved my groin issues in just 3 visits, and thanks to her I had a lovely trip to Hawaii where I was able to withstand 12+ hour flights and 4 hikes with no issues. While my journey with Maureen has just begun, I fully intend to make her a regular part of my routine! Don't hesitate to visit.
