My best kept secret. Jane and the staff at Akos are magic, they helped cure my back pain and keep me pain free. They’re very knowledgeable, understanding and flexible when appt times need to shift. I highly recommend anyone wanting to try acupuncture to come here!

Dr. Jane is not only beyond knowledgeable and explains everything to you, but she is absolutely compassionate and really wants you to heal. I came to Dr Jane for an extremely painful shoulder issue, she is not only treating me for that, but she is now treating me for other issues that I personally didn't know could be treated with Acupuncture! I love all the different acupuncture/cupping treatments and advice that I receive, but I feel fantastic after every visit and look forward to my weekly appointments. If you want the sweetest, kindest and really the best acupuncturist then look no more because Dr. Jane Gibbons is it!!!

I've been seeing Sarah Heslip at Akos for several months. She is amazing and I don't know what I'd do without her! She's thorough and takes her time; never once have I felt rushed. She's extremely thoughtful in her approach and I'm always impressed by her memory - she remembers small details about me and my symptoms appointment after appointment that even I've forgotten about. On top of all that she has really awesome energy, which is not something I typically notice about a person. She is so calm and grounded and, like most New Yorkers, I need more of that! For years I’ve been struggling with sleep, memory, and TMJ issues and have made little to no progress. In the short time since I began seeing Sarah there has been a notable (incredibly, really) improvement. The Akos space is beautiful, tranquil, clean, and well-kept. Every time I leave I feel like a weight has been lifted. I've told my whole office about Akos because I love it that much and I can't recommend Sarah enough!

I am not one to write reviews, but I felt like I needed to share the level of care I received at AKOS. I have been suffering from severe sciatica pain and had gone to the some of the shared space local clinics to try to resolve but it didn't seem to be really helping. I thoroughly discussed my issues and pain with Sara, and she thoughtfully worked through with needles, mugwort, and a balm. I feel like the space of a private practice gave us room to experiment with varying treatments, not to mention the calming silence when you are on the table (which is well worth the few extra dollars spent). I've let the treatment settle in, and it has reduced pain completely. There is nothing quite like freedom from pain and I will be returning frequently to maintain the new balance Dr. Heslip has provided!

My first time experiencing acupuncture was with Dr. Jane at Akos and I am hooked! It's such a pleasant experience. When I am in pain, feeling stressed, have a cold, or can't sleep, Jane has me feeling great in no time. Love acupuncture and I highly recommend Akos!

My issue is insomnia. I am averse to taking meds— OTC or Rx. I wanted a holistic solution!! I met with Sarah for an initial consultation and she really took time to explain the treatment plan and I learned that it was not a "ONCE and YOUR DONE" treatment. I have been to AKOS 6 times in the last 2 months and I am sleeping more soundly… and falling asleep more easily than I have in several years. Huge improvement in the quality of my sleep. It feels like magic. The office is convenient to my work and scheduling has been easy- I have seen Jane and Connie as well and I feel I am in good hands with any of the 3 acupuncturists in this practice. Akos is a very pleasant space with a truly soothing vibe. I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for knowledgeable practitioners. They really work as a team toward their patient's health.

The practitioners at Akos are as kind and knowledgeable as their clinic rooms are clean and comfortable. I've been seeing Sarah for cupping, facial cupping and acupuncture focusing on TMJ and neck/shoulder pain and it's given me such deep, lasting relief. When I go every week, I really notice the difference. She has also been treating my anxiety, and that's been an added bonus that I really did not expect.
