List of Alan Greenspan Md's Reviews
I was referred to this office by my primary doctor. When I called I explained that I was incredibly worried about my condition and wanted to know if they took my insurance, and if they could see me as soon as possible. They hastily told me they did accept my insurance, which is Oxford. They failed to explain there were different tiers, to which I apparently am in the wrong one. The soonest appointment was over a month away, and I agreed not wanting to have to wait longer. As I said I was incredibly worried. I decided to call back the next day and ask again if I could be seen sooner, if they had a cancellation or something. They agreed they might call in that case. I never got a call about a cancellation which is fine, and patiently waited over a month for the appointment, as scheduled. I arrive to my appointment and I’m immediately told they don’t accept my insurance. I leave with a referral to some other doctor they googled, which doesn’t have any availability for the next three months and requires a whole new referral from my NPN. This, in my opinion, is negligence on behalf of the reception staff who should have known to ask better questions about insurance if they knew it might be an issue. I am left in distress, still very concerned about my condition. I hope they can address this lapse and make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else. I was referred to this office by my primary doctor. I saw Dr. Greenspan a few weeks ago. When I arrived, I could not understand how the waiting room was so packed to the point where all the chairs were taken and people were standing by the door. One by one, like an assembly line, I watched people go in and emerge 5 to 10 minutes later. When it was my turn, I finally understood. Dr. Greenspan saw me for about 5 minutes. When I asked him if my condition was a cyst, he told me he didn't know and that it sounded like it. I asked how we could treat it and he said there was nothing that could be done and that if the supposed cyst's odor bothered me, I could go get Covid so I would lose my sense of smell. I got the bill for 140 today and intend to appeal with my insurance. I also called my regular dermatologist, sent a photo of my condition and was asked to make an appointment because he could treat it. I saw Dr. Greenspan a few weeks ago. Dr. Greenspan is a beautiful human being, who happened to be a brilliant Dermatologist. I had a stubborn, and unsightly case of Psoriasis till l saw Dr. Greenspan, and now the Psoriasis is history, my skin has cleared nicely. Kudos to the entire staff , specially Laura 🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖
I found Dr. Greenspan to be rude, lacking in empathy and terse to the point of unkindness. Really awful bedside manner. However, he did a good job removing a growth on my forehead and was skilled enough not to leave a scar. I thought he was just having a bad day but he was even more unpleasant when I came back for the follow up appointment. It was a very weird and unsettling experience. I find doctors to be reasonably kind and decent people on the whole but this guy is a true outlier. His front desk staff were about as uncouth and rude as he was so I've never gone back. There's never an excuse for a health care professional to treat a patient poorly. Don't waste your time with this man. There are plenty of equally competent doctors who will treat you like a human being.Dr. Greenspan might benefit from therapy to better control his personality difficulties.
I have been a patient of Dr. Greenspan for about a decade. The office manager does not seem care about customer service and is extreemly rude when faced with questions. If I were not a long standing patient then I would most likely change doctors because of her attitude.
terrible service, receptionists pick up the phone and hang up in the middle of the conversation
I've been with Dr. Greenspan fo over 10 years, and have recommended a number of friends to his practice. Professional, courteous, kind and above all a remarkable "skin Doctor".
Dr. Greenspan is delightful and knowledgeable, however, his office staff is simply awful. I've had to call 3 times to get a prescription filled and they act as though I'm disrupting their day with my call. They are lazy and unhelpful, after several visits I will have to find a new dermatologist because I simply can't deal with their unprofessional and simply rude behavior.
He's the best dermatologist ever! Extremely knowledgeable, polite, kind, and gracious. Despite the rude front desk staff, the doctor is absolutely worth the visit!
Best dermatologist in NYC hands down! I highly recommend him. I've been a patient for 10 years.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
