List of Anastasios Manessis, Md's Reviews
The worst experience ever. I was diagnosed with glandular tumors and my condition is critical. I can't breathe at all. He diagnosed me with this. He saw me once and after that I don't know how to reach him at all. His customer service is extremely bad. I don't know how to get an appointment. The biggest surprise I received is that he doesn't perform operations or do anything. I want to know what kind of doctor he is. I don't advise anyone to visit this place at all. My condition is critical because of him. He even refused
Incredibly frustrating experience. I scheduled an appointment back in May and I got booked to July, then I got rescheduled in July for September, and now I get a call that I need to be rescheduled for end of December. This is incredibly frustrating and disheartening for someone dealing with a medical condition. Dr. Manessis came highly recommended but what's the point if I'm never able to see him.
After 3 years of care at this practice, I decided to leave. Their front desk receptionist, Spencer, is disrespectful and outright nasty. All last week starting Tuesday, I was trying to reach someone to make a follow-up appointment and get a lab order to see the PA. The entire time I've been at this practice, I've done telehealth medicine. Fast forward, I decided to reach out to the so-called doctor though the patient portal about my experience (I've NEVER seen this guy the entire time I've been at the practice, as he has mid-levels running it), and he responded with, "What can we help you with?" SIR, I explained it to you at length in my previous message, but I reiterated it to him. He made no apology, no reassurance, nothing. He just never responded to me. Long story short, he decided to cancel my telehealth visit and requested (laughable) that I see him in person. There was ZERO reason why I needed to see him in person other than the fact that he was upset at my critique of his practice. Again, he has NEVER seen me throughout the entirety of my treatment there. Out of spite and emotional deficiency, he wanted to inconvenience me instead of taking constructive feedback like an adult DOCTOR should and address my concerns. I even asked for him to call me since I'm literally 45 minutes away from him. He asked his front desk person, Peter , to call me instead of just responding to me like an adult in the app. He made an in-person appointment without my CONSENT for Sept 22. Sir, you DO NOT make arrangements for me. I was absolutely livid and still am. If he saw me in person, it wouldn't go well because I do not appreciate juvenile games from someone who is supposed to be a doctor. Canceling my appointment is essentially playing with my health. Prescriptions can not be refilled unless I see a provider. This wasn't routine. He just decided he was going to admonish me in person (it is the only logical explanation I can think of) for telling him via the patient portal about my dismay of his handling of his practice and my issue with Spencer. I decided to just find another doctor who isn't egotistical and focuses on patient care and experience. Oh, and they charge you. 0.75 a page if you want your medical records released directly to you - unethical. I would avoid his practice at all costs. Unreal.
0 stars. Save time and go elsewhere. Extremely unprofessional, lack of medical competence, office staff is lazy & rude
Awful run away Awful doctor & practice. They cancel appointments last minute (minutes to hours before). No one answers the phone. They don’t bother talking to insurance and are extremely nasty & rude.
He’s very knowledgeable and explains things clearly. He gives a comprehensive examination and lastly he is very kind and concerned.
Horrible Service - Not Responsive - I have never in my life experienced an office like this. You can olny communicate through text and get a window of 48 hours for a call back. If you miss the call you, start all over again. So essentially, their time is precious and yours is not. No calls after labs or tests. I have no trust that they would call if there was something bad in your results becuase they are so non-responsive. Prescription sent to pharmacy without contact, knoweldge or instruction. Billing messages sent late Sunday nights and AI generated responses when you do call billing. You will see Dr Manessis on the first visit and never see him again. Relying on technology to be your doctor is insanity!!
Since this business deleted my first review: Please go anywhere else. Do not waste your time here. This practice does not prioritize patient health or care, their priority is getting paid and billing you and your insurance as much as possible. First, I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time to be seen by the NP. It took over three weeks to receive my bloodwork, which I was told repeatedly was Quest's fault, but given the way this office has treated me, I'm going to guess there was more to the reason that delayed it. Then, after receiving my results, and worrying that my hormone levels were totally out of whack, I noticed a clerical error on my paperwork which impacted all of my blood test results which skewed them to be completely incorrect, rendering the results wrong and useless. I messaged the NP and she confirmed that it was their error, and told me to call Quest to get them updated, but Quest told me they couldn't update it. I had to go to another practice and repeat all my bloodwork, incurring additional costs which delayed my timeline by weeks of trying to find the correct diagnosis. Additionally, it took me four days and two different methods of communication to cancel the follow up appointment that they made me schedule at the time of my first appointment. No one answers the phone, messages, or returns phone calls, except! the billing department. It's a shiny lobby, but this place is a disorganized mess.
Dr. Manessis and his team in Bay Ridge are outstanding. They are knowledgeable, caring, and truly dedicated to their patients. My mom struggled with uncontrolled diabetes for years, but under Dr. Manessis care, her glucose is finally under control. He takes the time to explain everything clearly, is honest, and never alarms us unnecessarily. The staff is friendly and scheduling is easy, making every visit a positive experience. I highly recommend Dr. Manessis for anyone seeking expert diabetes care in Brooklyn.
A True Gold Standard in Care – Thank You, Dr. Manessis and Team I cannot overstate how deeply grateful I am for Dr. Manessis and his exceptional team of professionals. From the very first appointment, the warmth, clarity, and confidence they brought to every interaction made all the difference. In a time when compassionate, detail-oriented care can be hard to find, Dr. Manessis and his staff stand out as the *gold standard*. Dr. Manessis possesses a rare combination of clinical brilliance and genuine humanity. He listens—really listens—and ensures that no concern goes unaddressed. Every step of my care plan was explained with patience and precision, and I always felt respected, informed, and in the best of hands. His team—every nurse, assistant, and administrative professional—mirrors his excellence. They are consistently kind, organized, and responsive. This is a practice where excellence is expected, maintained, and delivered with grace. Thank you, Dr. Manessis, for setting the bar so high and for making your patients feel valued and cared for at every turn. You and your team are a rare gift in modern medicine.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
