List of Anate Brauer's Reviews
After trying to conceive for two years my husband and I began the journey of looking for a fertility clinic for testing and assistance. As an African American woman it was important for me to find a place that would treat me kind and understand my needs during this journey. My gynecologist, who is also African American referred Dr Brauer and it’s been an extraordinary journey from the beginning. Dr Brauer is patient, knowledgeable and direct to the point when it comes to information about my health and care. The entire office is professional and I want to acknowledge that Sara, a nurse who works with Dr Brauer is fantastic as well. Shady Grove didn’t make me feel like a number and it wasn’t all about the money with them. I felt heard and at 40 years old I gave birth to a wonderful and healthy baby girl. This wouldn’t be possible with Dr Brauer. I plan to continue to build my family in the future with Shady Grove and specifically Dr Brauer.
Hi just worked with Dr.Brauer for egg freezing and the whole process was wonderful! Her and her team are professional, knowledgeable and understanding. They are there to guide you through all the steps!
Love Dr. Brauer! She is personable and down to earth while being extremely thorough. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that is going through IVF.
I recently completed egg freezing cycles with Dr. Brauer, who is hands-down the best doctor I’ve had the privilege of knowing. Dr. Brauer is warm, knowledgeable, smart, and compassionate. She is exactly who you want calling the shots (literally and figuratively). Shout out to all of the other doctors, nurses, and staff at SGF NY who answered my countless questions and always made me feel comfortable, safe, and supported. And a special shout out to my nurse Sara Charlesworth who was with me every step of the way. Sara exudes warmth, positivity, and passion, and I feel so lucky to have been under her care. I might actually miss my visits to SGF NY, which always felt more like a home than a doctor’s office.
I recently completed two egg freezing cycles with Dr. Brauer and I'm blown away by the overall care, knowledge, and compassion from her and the staff at SGF New York. As a nurse, I've worked with many physicians and without question, Dr. Brauer is one of the best. She's warm, attentive, reassuring, and vigilant. It's evident she deeply cares about each patients success and will be your biggest cheerleader. Her nurses are responsive, smart, and take the time to answer questions and concerns. I could not speak more highly of this practice and Dr. Brauer!
Dr Brauer is one of the most caring doctors I have ever been to. In a very isolating and often lonely journey, she is an advocate, a source of information, and a shoulder to lean on. I could not have imagined going through any of this without her and the whole team at SGF.
I saw Dr Anate Brauer earlier this year and it was an unprofessional and questionably unethical experience. At 45 years old, never before pregnant, Dr. Brauer told me that it would be "unethical" for any doctor to try and help me undergo IVF due to my low AMH level. Equal parts adamant and appalled, I pressed her on it and she agreed to "reconsider" working with me, depending on my follicle count. Within two weeks, I was in her office undergoing monitoring on Day 3 and pleased to learn I had several follicles. However, instead of shifting her position, as she said she would, Dr Brauer doubled down, and wrongly snapped that I only had a "few" follicles (again, 7 was the count) and then shifted the goal post yet again, citing my elevated FSH number as the reason it wasn't "ethical" to work with me. Luckily, I moved on from Shady Grove and found other doctors. I shared Dr Brauer's words with the doctors at CCRM, New Hope and Kofinas Fertility, where I ended up, and they were equally appalled by her behavior. In the end, Dr Brauer was the only person acting in an unethical manner. She clearly was out of her league in trying to support a complicated case as mine. Yet instead of suggesting I find a clinic with the experience to support me, she continually tried to discourage me from trying IVF altogether. The only thing she cared about in my case was preserving her success rate by steering me away from her clinic. However, her self-centeredness could've killed my morale and caused me to give up my IVF journey before I ever began. Stay away from Dr Brauer, at all costs. She's unethical, demoralizing and doesn't care about the patient.
Dr. Brauer and her team at SGF were incredible! Egg/embryo freezing is an intense process, but they made it as easy as possible and I could not recommend them more highly.
I am so grateful to Dr. Brauer and my care team at SGF NY for all of their support throughout my fertility journey and most of all, for never giving up on me no matter how many times we hit what felt like a dead end. Dr. B. is a wonderfully knowledgeable, kind and compassionate physician (with a good sense of humor) and I know that she was truly invested in helping me achieve my goals to build my family. Highly recommend SGF NY!
Dr. Brauer is very knowledgeable. My treatment went exactly as she described it. She was appropriately encouraging without giving false hope. I felt I was in good hands with her and her team.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
