Anne Holland Johnson's Online Review Report Card

Went to see her for a second opinion. Very cold and insulting. I thought I was seeing the best of the best, unfortunately not in my opinion. Ended leaving her office in tears and crying in the parking lot.

The best experience I’ve ever had with a surgeon or Dr.Informative, kind, you don’t leave her office with any questions not answered.

Was fortunate enough to have her do my Ankle fusion at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston when she was there. She was endlessly patient with me as I was trying to avoid another fusion. I finally realized I could not put it off any longer. She is a fabulous surgeon. And a real nice person as well! Do not hesitate to consult with her.

Performed surgery on my wife. Dr. Johnson is a superior surgeon. She is correcting 3 prior surgeries that were done by other physicians. DR. Johnson is extremely compassionate and a wonderful person. Her P.A. Kate is very knowledgeable ,professional and compassionate as are her nurses and office staff .Highly recommend!

Now, Dr. Anne Holland Johnson at HSS. Over past 3 yrs, I have encountered many physicians/surgeons at leading NY institutions. These encounters were, for the most part, disappointing UNTIL I met Dr. A. Holly Johnson at HSS. Upon meeting Dr. Johnson, I was pleasantly surprised to find her so 'down to earth’…NOT condescending…actively listened and acknowledged my concerns/issues, and more. Although being the expert in this particular situation, via her demeanor, tone, and dialogue, Dr. Johnson respectfully invited me to be a partner in my care including ankle/foot surgery for severed ligaments, ruptured tendon, etc.. Dr. Johnson conversed with me as an intelligent adult explaining what /why she could/could not accommodate [of my concerns/issues] with the goal being to ensure a safe surgery. I am extremely pleased, not only, with the outcome of the surgery done by Dr. Johnson but of her care/interactions with me. Thank you Dr. Johnson for being the best orthopedic surgeon and person.

Dr. Johnson has operated on both feet and has helped me cope with complicated foot problems. She is a very talented, caring physician!

Due to injuries sustained in an accident, over the past 3 years, I have encountered many physicians/surgeons at several of the leading NYC institutions. These encounters were, for the most part, quite disappointing; however, I began to accept this ‘care’ as the norm until I met Dr. A. Holly Johnson. To clarify, late last year, I had the good fortune to find Dr. A. Holly Johnson, orthopedic surgeon, at Hospital for Special Surgery. Upon first meeting, Dr. Johnson, I was pleasantly surprised to find her to be so 'down to earth’…she was NOT condescending…she actively listened and acknowledged my concerns/issues, and more. Although being the expert in this particular situation, via her demeanor, tone, and dialogue, Dr. Johnson respectfully invited me to be a partner in my care. Every encounter with Dr. Johnson confirms that she is what every physician/surgeon and any other medical practitioner should strive to be a) confident/skilled, yet, not arrogant about her/his knowledge/abilities as a physician/surgeon; b) able to recognize and respect the adult patient as an intelligent, reasonable person – until proven otherwise – and collaboratively engage WITH her/him in a respective, open, honest, and direct dialogue about concerns and care; and c) not compromise safety, yet, endeavor to address and whenever possible make accommodation for important concerns/issues of the patient. Thank you Dr. Johnson for being so secure in who you are as a person and as a physician/surgeon that you are able to treat people/patients with such patience, collaboration, and respect while providing exceptional medical/surgical services/care. DR. A. HOLLY JOHNSON truly DELIVERS what the definition of PATIENT CENTERED CARE should be about – something I’d not encountered until finding her.

Dr. Johnson has operated on both of my feet. I had complications develop after each surgery, but my surgeon was there with treatment for the problems, relief of my pain and a shoulder to cry on. See this wonderful provider for your foot/ankle issues. It will be worth your time and effort!

I was fortunate enough to have Dr Johnson oversee my care in Boston. Because of her I can walk pain free and have resumed my exercise routine. Because of Dr Johnson I enjoy walking again and reach my FitBit step goal everyday. I would recommend her to anyone!

This doctor is extraordinary! After failed surgery from a podiatrist many doctors would not even attempt to fix as my former podiatrist had failed. Dr. Johnson took a chance by graphing bone, replacing loose screws and made me walk again.
