We brought our infant to see Dr. Ahkavan after a few visits and horrific procedure with a local pediatric urologist. While both docs felt he needed a pyleplasty for his hydronephrosis, Dr. Akhavan was able to do it robotically and with just 1 inpatient night whereas the other urologist would perform open surgery incl 5 nights in the hospital. Dr. Ahkavan is brilliant, thorough and kind and I feel incredibly blessed to have found him for my son. He is well worth the travel and inconveniences of nyc.

We love Dr. akhavan. What more can I say? We trust him completely. He is a very caring and personable doctor. He answers emails very quickly and doesn’t rush you in and out of your appts, answers all your questions. You can tell he really does care about your child. I wish we could see him for everything not just urology issues :)

Doctor is great, very willing to listen and to explain, as is his nurse. Our surgery went well, we had a very good experience from the front desk to the post-op recovery—which is standard at NYPres. Thank you.
