Excellent doctor! Dr. Magun has been managing my liver for many years and I only have the best things to say about him and his assistant Eileen. Great people skills and professional service. Always a great experience seeing him. Highly recommended!
This office has been trying to balance bill me for months, which is not legal. THEY messed up filing for services rendered to my insurance company and did not refile the correct information within the contractual time frame. Despite having been put ON NOTICE by my insurance company that I, as the patient, am NOT liable for payment bc of THEIR mistake and them missing the contractual deadline, they are STILL trying to balance bill me. I have to call my insurance company again to contact their office and explain that they’re legally NOT ALLOWED TO BALANCE BILL. If I did not know that balance billing was illegal, I would be out $450 for absolutely no reason. If they continue to balance bill me the next step will be a phone call to NYS Department of Insurance Fraud.
I have traveled many miles, many hours, for many years to see Dr Magun. He is the greatest! Has kept me going through many bad times..many procedures...many hospital stays, and never gave up. He was always there to answer questions and his patience never ending. I would recommend anyone to him and will continue traveling to see him. His staff, Eileen, the Best!
I've used Dr. Magun for nearly two decades after receiving a recommendation from a highly respected individual. Dr. Magun handled my medical condition with great concern, thoughtfulness and made all the correct calls. I am now cured of a disease that there was no reliable treatment regimen before. Because of total confidence in Dr. Magun's non-aggressive plan due to my other medical issues I only need to see Dr. Magun for a check-up as we all should do.
Patients can forgive much ... lack of competence even, but never lack of caring. And that is what is the alarming deficit in Dr. Magun.
Dr. Magun was recommended for my mom by her Cardiologist. He came to see my mom in the hospital after reading her chart and seeing how fearful she was of having a colonoscopy because of her stomach and heart issues as well as a deep seeded fear which goes back to her childhood. Well, she called me after Dr. Magun came to see her to rave about how wonderful he is! She said he has the most calming way about him and just inspires great confidence. Other doctors say what an excellent physician he is, and just as important is a good bedside manner. My mom feels she can now have the procedure done and although she is still a bit nervous, she has every confidence in Dr. Magun, and so do I.
I would recommend him to anybody. I was at my wits end with other doctors after trying different medicines etc. Dr. Magun started me on the right road on my first visit. I have heard other doctors calling him for advice etc. when I was in the office. He is an excellent doctor and I can't sing enough praises.
I was recommended to this doctor after emergency abdominal surgery for an ulcer at Columbia Presbyterian. I had three simple questions as to diet and follow-up visits which he refused to answer when I went for an endoscopy, saying those had to be addressed at another time. Then when I emailed and called with the questions, he said he doesn't practice medicine over the phone. I scheduled a visit to which I was 10 minutes late given my long commute just to get 3 questions answered. He had taken another patient and I had to wait and wait and wait. To contact the office is harder than reaching the President of the United States. So, the office is grossly understaffed. I've since switched to another doctor who actually has time for his patients and practices a more old-fashioned patient-centric type of medicine.
Referred by one of his colleagues, Dr. Magun is a thorough and pleasant professional

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
