Nobody wants to see a Proctologist, but Dr Harlin is amazing. I’ve been going to him for at least 15 years for different issues. Colonoscopy, fissure, hemorrhoids. He’s so nice and knows what he’s doing. I wish every Doctor I go to was as nice and caring.
As a nurse I have worked with some of the best surgeons at a top hospital in the country. Dr. Harlin beats them all. He is excellent at his craft. As a patient , Dr. Harlin is exactly what you want. Kind, caring, exceptional bedside manner. He explains everything thoroughly and leaves you feeling truly cared for. He made a huge difference at a difficult time. You will not regret having him as your surgeon.
This is the best doctor I have ever seen. He fixed my problem efficiently. I am very appreciative.
He is the nicest, knowledgeable Dr that I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve been going to him for years and I can’t image why people wouldn’t give him 5 Stars.
Horrible experience. Please listen to the reviews.
I need a b*t*x treatment, but my insurance requires Dr Harlin to provide his notes which detail my symptoms, how long I've had them, and the prior treatments I've received in order to determine that it is medically necessary. I meet all of these requirements, but both my claim and appeal have been denied because the doctor and his office seem to be incapable of providing legible and interpretable notes. Their incompetence has delayed my treatment for months, and by the time i can actually get treated it will probably be a new year, with my deductible reset, meaning this is going to cost me way, way more.
My experience with Dr. Harlin was absolutely amazing. We had been to so many doctors dealing with diverticulitis & Dr. Harlin immediately knew what to do. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly & completely changed my husband's life through his treatment plan. The office was so helpful & accommodating to my many phone calls to find out information. We are beyond happy to have found Dr. Harlin & could never thank him enough. He saved my husband's life.

Without a doubt, the worst doctor/medical experience of my life. I would avoid Dr Harlin and the Colon and Rectal Surgery of Manhattan at ALL COSTS. I came in for an assessment, Dr Harlin told me he could fix my issue right then and there. I was surprised and had not planned on having it addressed that day. I asked if I would be able to take the subway home by myself, and if there would be any potential concerns. Dr Harlin assured me I could take the subway home and that I would be fine. Well, after the procedure I left and started bleeding almost immediately upon leaving. I took an Uber home, and could not stop bleeding, so I called Dr Harlin. He told me to just apply some pressure, it would be fine. I bled through 3 towels and had to get driven back to his office, where he had to give me 3 stitches to stop the bleeding. Yet before I even got home, the incision opened up and I was again bleeding everywhere. Long story short I had to spend the night in the ER. Worst experience ever, I would not trust Dr Harlin to even speak with me again, do yourself a favor and find any other doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
