List of Brookdale Battery Park City's Reviews
Brookdale Battery City is a beautiful and well-run upscale senior residence. The apartments are spacious and bright and the location - just steps from Tribeca and the West Side Highway - is superb. Karen and Angela are fantastic - loving, kind and caring!!
Above and beyond!! Special thanks to Karen Lampiasi for working in lockstep with us as we relocated a new resident into her new apartment at Brookdale in Battery Park. 🙏 A downsize is never easy for our clients, but having a great support team makes a bit easier for them and their families. Karen jumped right in to help get measurements, set up a respite room for move day and checked in with us every step of the way. Even after the resident moved in was completed - I know Karen continued to give the family resources to help mom make the most of her experience at the community. Five Stars all around!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks for being a great partner with us and our move management team. Laura Silver Solutions
My client lived at Brookdale from 2016 until earlier this year. What follows are views from me, her geriatric care manager, her live-in aide and her family members: Brookdale Battery Park is not just a residence; it's a warm and welcoming community that becomes a cherished home. I had the pleasure of witnessing the exceptional experience that my client had while residing at Brookdale from 2016 until their passing earlier this year. The atmosphere at Brookdale is remarkable, seamlessly blending a true community spirit with a homely ambiance, creating an environment where residents feel a genuine sense of belonging. The amenities at Brookdale Battery Park are exceptional, offering luxurious living spaces that cater to a high standard of comfort and elegance. The residents are treated to a range of activities that suit a diverse array of interests and cultural backgrounds. It's inspiring to see a place that values inclusivity and ensures there's something for everyone. What truly sets Brookdale apart is their commitment to providing outstanding customer service. The staff, who are both kind and respectful, go above and beyond to attend to the needs of the residents. Whether it's a simple task like turning on the TV or addressing more complex apartment repair issues, the support is consistently exceptional. For those still seeking an active lifestyle, Brookdale offers excellent outdoor activities, fostering a vibrant and engaging community. The environment is perfect for making new connections, forming meaningful friendships, and sharing experiences. The place truly lives up to being a great spot for expanding one's social circle. Food is an integral part of life, and at Brookdale, they excel in providing a varied and tasty menu. The culinary options cater to different preferences and dietary needs, ensuring that every meal is a delightful experience. In essence, Brookdale Battery Park is an all-round fabulous place to enjoy life in retirement. It's not merely a place to live; it's a space where life is celebrated, connections are made, and where each individual is embraced for who they are. The memory of the time spent here will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who have been a part of this wonderful community.
Brookdale is an extremely well run facility with a management and staff that genuinely care about their residents and family members. At all times, they provided professional and personalised services which made the process of looking after someone with increasing care needs as easy as possible. I'm most grateful for this high level of service and their attention to every need.
This is an appreciation of Brendan McMahon, one of the managers working at Brookdale. While his title is Associate Executive Director, I found that over the 4 years my parents lived there, Brendan was remarkable in rapidly, consistently, and kindly helping me with every random issue that came up in supporting my parents. Whether it was questions about telephones, aides, finances, etc., he was always there. And with my living out of town, having someone I trusted working at Brookdale helped to give me confidence that my parents were in good care. AND, Brookdale worked very well for my parents. While the price increases were significant, Brookdale provided just what they promised, and just what my parents needed.
Mom has been there for 6 months. Could not be happier. Location is amazing— easy access to Brookfield Place, restaurants, movies, waterfront, and yet the area is also quiet and calm. Mom uses mobility scooter and is able to explore and enjoy everything. We live in Brooklyn and it is just a 20-25 minute hop on subway or bike. Building and facilities are clean and well-kept; mom has a studio that is spacious and thoughtfully laid out. Fellow residents are friendly and welcoming. There are plenty of fantastic activities and events, poetry classes, discussions, art, and free transportation to medical appointments. Dining facilities are also top-notch—food and service both excellent. Most importantly, I can’t say enough good things about the staff— from front desk to maintenance to dining, everyone has been super friendly and supportive, and the administration is responsive and forthright. The onsite doctor is also fantastic— has a great reputation among mom’s various practitioners. Had a lot of trepidation with moving mom from Florida into independent living, but feel like we hit the jackpot. Place has exceeded expectations across the board.
My father lived here for a few months after losing my mother. We were firm that we did not want a unit next to a smoker and that we did not want to sign until the fall- they respected neither of those requests. My father went there for a dinner and came home to tell me that he 'put down a deposit' so that he could lock in preferential pricing. I had to call corporate and found that he had, in fact, signed a lease and was now liable for monthly payments. We could not move him in until the fall, so we paid monthly for three months until we could move him in. Of course, he ended up with a unit next to the smoker and the hall/apt stink of smoke- very unpleasant. The HVAC and elevators are often down. Favorite staff members do not last long. Rental increases are in excess of 10% in 2023 and 2022- nearly a thousand dollars increase. Not sustainable even for well off people on a fixed income as many residents leave each rent increase.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
