I have never left a bad review in my life, for anything or anyone, but I think this five star review of Dr. Hodes is so ridiculous that I had to write about my experience and hopefully it will help someone. I just turned 40 and saw Dr. Hodes when I was 39. My partner (who does not live in NYC) and I had been trying to conceive for a year at that point, long-distance. I asked her whether she thought I should try my frozen eggs or go for an IUI as I really wanted a baby. She immediately dismissed both - told me I was very old and that I didn't have enough eggs for two children (I have 10) and that IUI doesn't work and that In-Vitro is my only option. This was five minutes into the conversation with zero test results. I was appalled. I walked out of her office and cried in the bathroom. Then I came to my senses and thought, what kind of a horrendous incompetent doctor would say this? My first IUI worked just fine and I am four months pregnant. Stay away from this doctor.

I am shocked to see any poor reviews of Dr. Hodes-Wertz. While she was not my RE, she did both of my transfers; one fresh with two embryos in 2015 and one frozen with one embryo in 2018. She talked through the risks of more than one embryo, made sound decisions around which embryos she selected for transfer and could not have had a better bedside manner. I would highly recommend her.

I saw Dr. Hodes today to discuss my timelin and future options. Dr. Hodes took the time to explain everything in great detail but ensured I understood everything. She took a detailed history and listened to all my insights. During the exam she was kind and patient and extremely respectful. I waited a bit after checking in (30-40 minutes) but it was worth it. I also want to highlight how great her medical secretary is!! I can’t speak to what happys when you want to go through IVF or freezing but for learning your options she was amazing!

I went to Dr. Hodes-Wertz for fertility issues, and after a few months, I am now 10 weeks pregnant! Dr. Hodes-Wertz was incredibly thorough and caring, and was the first doctor that was able to diagnose my issues properly. All of the staff at her office were incredible, and I especially loved Sarnia and Tabeia at the West Side office! They were all so welcoming and caring and made me feel really comfortable during a very difficult time in my life. I would recommend them to ANYONE and EVERYONE!!

Dr. Hodes-Wertz is absolutely phenomenal. She is the first and only RE I've seen and after 6 ovulation induction cycles with her, I'm now expecting! I recommended her to friends even before we'd had success because I fully trusted her. I endlessly researched my diagnosis and every drug we used, and everything she had me do was completely in line with the latest research. Her bedside manner is fantastic. I only wish she could deliver my baby next year (no REs do this though)!
