Carnegie East House is an outstanding community where residents can retain independence and have support when needed. Monthly rents include many services: three meals a day, 3.5 hours per week of personal care, weekly housekeeping and laundry, a full program of in-house activities, membership to the 92nd Street "Y" and the support of registered nurses and social workers. It's an intimate community--every employee knows the name of every resident. Staff and management have long tenures at Carnegie East House with low turnover. Residents reflect the diversity, breadth, and mindset of this dynamic city.

My husband spent two years at Carnegie. I visited him regularly and shared many of his activities, movies, concerts, and Friday night services. he was safe and satisfied with his life, although he continue to struggle with balance problems. Carnegie allowed us to spend the last years of our marriage together. Us to be separate

Having my mom living at Carnegie East has really made a life saving difference for my family. The staff are excellent and I know she's safe. She likes her apartment and her neighbors, has been able to enjoy her freedom, but on more than one occasion the staff contacted me when she needed care and we got her to the hospital. My mom enjoys herself and I know she's in good hands.

My Mother has been at Carnegie East House for three years, having moved back to New York City from Florida. We heard about Carnegie East House from a family friend and looked at several other places first. I cant say enough about all the kind Staff, fabulous Activities, Food, Rooms with views, and gorgeous patio. The care that my Mother gets living here is excellent. My Mother, Shirley, is in her 90's and participates in so many things including evening movies and matinees, exercise classes, book club, music appreciation etc. She has met some new friends and is never lonely. The Activities Director, Scott Gordon is incredible and Joe Girven, who is head of Carnegie East House communicates regularly with families and protected the community from Covid and not one resident got sick! Located on The Upper Eastside, so much is nearby including the famous 92nd Street YMCA. Finally, compared to other senior living facilities, the pricing is fair and affordable. So grateful that my mom is at this lovely, lively place. The apartment is light-filled and comfortable, the staff is great and caring, and the food is better than other reviewers have said. I appreciate Carnegie East and the activities--from Classical music appreciation to Shakespeare to Friday Happy Hour--keep my mom engaged and happy.
