List of Central Park Hematology & Oncology's Reviews
Dr Steven Gruenstein listens very closely to his patients, especially me. Extremely important between physician and a patient! As a patient, I trust Dr Steven Gruenstein.
The other low reviews are right! They ignore patients as someone else complained about. If you want to feel prejudice and discrimination come see dr Brenda panzera. She hangs up on her patients, treats people rudely and only helps limited conditions. Their website is misleading they don’t treat half of the health problems listed and they ignore patients as well.
Dr. W was and always on point while I was there....the nurses and staff are awesome....I ended up in er at Lenox hospital and Dr. W came to see me and was very compassionate towards my needs....best team ever.....
The doctor we see and the nurses are amazing. Front desk staff needs an attitude adjustment. Cancer patients are already here battling something we can't even imagine and the attitude they give for doing their job is astonishing. Also, for a place that's filled with immunocompromised patients, they're very laxed with any mask regulations. Front desk staff wears them as chin straps and quite a few patients do as well.
I agree all staff doctors are really nice and helpful.
Dr. W was the very best of the best ordering all necessary tests that other doctors REFUSED TO ORDER. Very sad he left the practice. The staff at the practice is disoriented and completely inefficient. This infrastructure is the worst of all clinics in the 50 states!!! The doctors are good but there is no follow up phone calls. You literally have to call 10 times a day and scream at the staff to get a response so stay away from this facility if your life depends on consistent care this is not the place to be!
I had a wonderful phone experience with Julia Perez (front desk) I work for Virginia Oncology Associates. I was so frustrated that I couldn't get through to an actual person on the phone much less in the pathology department. Finally I thought to call an Oncology office in NYC to see if they could help me with a direct number. Julia answered, I briefly explained my predicament and then let out a big sigh. I could hear her smile through the phone :-) The number(s) she gave me worked for the most part. I just had to call other numbers to get what I needed but, they were all real people LOL! I called her back after I had everything I needed which was a few minutes after 4:00p.m. She saw it was me calling so she answered. She didn't have to, she could have let the answering service get. She is a very friendly and service orientated person. If not for her having a direct number into the hospital I don't know how I would have been able to help this man who transferred to us after leaving NYC. THANKS JULIA!!!! - C. Gray
Clean place. Very helpful doctors Dr. W is the BEST DR in the office.
I really love Central Park Hematology. I started there as a patient of Dr. Klafter, then Dr. Panzera then Dr. Carreau and now the wonderful Dr. Gruenstein. He is very thorough, kind and knowledable. I haven't had the same administrative challenges as others, but the doctors are fantastic. I've been going there for about 10+ years for iron issues.
One of my blood readings was off.. just to play it safe my Internist sent me to see a dr in this office.. Well. first.. there is a line almost out the door.. how about scheduling appointments properly instead of trying to squeeze in as many as possible?? The office is shabby. the wood edges of the chairs have no paint. ok.. I am not there for the decor. BUT.. at 2 pm why are all the trash cans I walked past filled to over flowing? One of the drs had a horrid Upper Respiratory infection. Sneezing and coughing. taking his mask down to blow his nose. and NOT disinfecting them after. This is an office full of immuno compromised people. Why would a Dr come in who is that sick.. oh yes.. $$$$$. The nurse took several vials of blood. I told her NOT to do the test until after the platelet count came back. If the count was normal.. there was no reason. Oh but it is a good baseline. No.. don't do the tests.. Of course my result was well within normal.. IF anything had been wrong. NO way would I use this practice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
