List of Chinitz's Reviews
Dr Chinitz is probably the best doctor in NYC for heart rhythm disorders . He is a consummate professional who is nationally renowned and with good reason . He has been doing Afib Ablations for 30+ years . He does at least 12 a week and his staff refer to him as the wizard . He did my surgery and I never felt better !
Dr. Larry Chinitz is an excellent doctor! He is extremely adept in his field of heart rhythm disorders such as a-fib. However, he could benefit from working on his bedside manner. He might not have a lot of empathy for some of his patients, especially those on the lower socioeconomic rungs. In this case, I'd go with a doctor that has the experience to treat your affliction!
I can’t comment on Dr. Chinitz skills as a doctor since he didn’t honor his appointment with me. It took me two months to get an appointment. I arrived on time. After sitting for 45 minutes and listening to people in the waiting room grumble about how long they had been waiting, I checked at the front desk to ask how much longer I would wait before I saw him. I was told two hours. No explanation, no apology. Nothing was said when I walked in. I understand that doctors can have emergencies, but tell your patients. I wasn’t waiting two more hours, so I left. I’ve been treated by some of the top cardiologists in New York. I’ve had this issue with none of them. I do not want to be treated by a doctor and staff who have so little respect for their patients.
We drove from Connecticut for a 3 pm appointment and were told nothing by the people behind the reception desk. After 45 minutes we gathered from remarks in the waiting room that Dr. Chinitz was running 2 hours late. When we went to the reception desk, they confirmed it, so we left for home. We spent a total of 4 hours on the road, plus an hour of preparation for the appointment (online admission forms, preparing Kardia reports). In a just world, he would pay us for our time.
Very caring doctor with amazing skills. He did an ablation on me and I feel great!!
Excellent
9 years ago April 11th 2012 I went to NYU Langone to have an ablation performed by Dr. Chinitz for my persistent Atrial Fibrillation. 9 years later all is fantastic. The man changed my life. Thank you. Sincerely, Chris Connors
I had an ablation in 2012 due to asymptomatic left ventricular tachycardia at 37 years old. Procedure went fine, NYU nursing staff was amazing, but the follow-up with his nurse was frustrating. She said she would email me my post-procedure Holter monitor results, then ignored my numerous follow-up attempts. The procedure reduced my extra beats to 5% for about 6 months, but they were back up to 10, 12, 15% within 2 years. Aside from the poor experience with his nurse, his office staff was unbearably rude and the wait time at each appt was abusive. I'm now looking into having a second ablation and thought I would check Dr. Chinitz's reviews against another electrophysiologist...seems I wasn't the only one disappointed by his Nurse and staff. The patients that have tipped others off to the fact that he likely didn't perform their procedures, I'm so sorry for you, but thank you for helping me make the decision not to return to him for this next procedure.
I can’t say enough of the treatment I had at NYU for an AFIB ablation. Every nurse, PA and staff member Couldn’t have been nicer. I had the kind of treatment I hoped for. Dr. Chinitz was quiet but said not to worry and he will take care of me and he did! Even the kind aide Eureka was so nice to me and respectful. I am grateful that I had the nurses I had and the entire staff! The follow up the next day was also great.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
