Dr. Jackness is an exceptional endocrinologist. He’s thorough, methodical, and takes the time to really figure things out rather than jumping to quick fixes. He approaches care collaboratively, making you feel part of the process, and his intelligence and attention to detail inspire a lot of confidence. It’s clear he genuinely cares about outcomes, and he consistently goes above and beyond. Couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Rude doctor

Jackness is what I would call a "fake" nice guy who's only skill is treating mainstream endocrine problems. If you have symptoms that are a little more complex, he won't be of much help. You might want to work on how you speak to patients who pay for your overcharged consultations.

Dr Jackness is hands down the best physician. Caring, intelligent, and he thinks outside of the proverbial box. He's an incredible human and endocrinologist. I recommend him with the highest possible approval. My husband and I have been seeing him for over 8 years and his entire staff rocks too. I will ALWAYS and forever come to Dr. Jackness as he is the BEST Endocrinologist in town! He's the first Endocrinologist to look at me holistically vs. just my thyroid. He RULES!!!! I would highly recommend him!

Outstanding clinician with great bedside manner. Have been seeing Dr Jackness for many years treating my various thyroid issues. He is knowledgeable, caring and easy to talk with. He answered all of my questions and addresses all of my concerns. Office staff is professional and friendly. Scheduling an appointment is always prompt and he and his staff have respect for my time. He is always reachable to answer any of my questions or concerns.

Dr. Jackness has been a very understanding doctor, has listened to me, and allowed me to try things I was insistent on trying to improve my Hashimoto's thyroid problems. He found the right combination of T4 and T3 for me and got my numbers stable. He worked within my budget and didn't try to pressure me to buy a bunch of expensive supplements or anything like that. I found Dr. Jackness through a Hashimoto's patients forum where he was recommended as one of the few doctors who really gets Hashimoto's in NYC. Many doctors do not listen to their patients and will tell you that you're fine as long as your TSH is the number they want to see, even if you're obviously suffering from many Hashimoto's symptoms such as hair shedding, weight gain, anxiety, depression, sore joints, dry skin, cold body temperature, etc. Unfortunately, my insurance company, GHI Emblem Health, just decided they were not going to pay for T3 testing anymore because they concluded it was not necessary. But, it is necessary because I need T3 medicine (Cytomel). How are you going to monitor T3 levels unless you test them? When we were discussing this nonsense with health insurance, Dr. Jackness mentioned to me he was having issues with other insurance companies, too, and I could tell he was having a tough time with it. Dr. Jackness said he would cover the expense of my T3 until they figure it out, so he didn't charge me anything extra. He just ate the cost himself. A few weeks later, all his patients received an email announcement saying they will no longer participate in-network with health insurance plans because too much of their time and efforts have been utilized on bureaucracy and regulations imposed by the insurance industry. They will still offer lab tests under your individual insurance plans subject to your plan's terms and prescriptions are covered by insurance. But, since they no longer accept insurance, it's not just a $20-50 co-pay for the appointment, unfortunately. The same thing happened with my previous doctor who was also recommended by the Hashimoto's forums. I had only seen him for about 6 months before he stopped taking insurance for the same reasons. Insurance companies seem to punish popular doctors. I suspect when insurance companies see a lot of patient bills coming in from one popular doctor, they just decide they're not going to pay for all those claims from only one doctor and they start refusing to pay for a lot of different items. If GHI doesn't have a problem with testing my T3 at the next doctor I go to, then that might be some evidence in support of my theory. Since I will not be able to afford Dr. Jackness anymore without insurance (for the time being, anyway), I just came here to leave him one positive last review to let any other Hashimoto's patients know he is worth seeing if you can afford pay up front and file claims with your insurance company yourself. I was disappointed to see another patient has left a 1-star review here just because they can no longer accept health insurance. Before health insurance companies pulled this nonsense, Dr. Jackson had a 4.96 on ZocDoc based on 1,007 reviews. It sickens me to think how many other people might leave unfair negative reviews. That's like leaving a 1-star review about a car because you can't afford to buy it. Makes no sense.
