Sorry I took so long to respond (my surgery was in early April of this year). Dr. Smith, all the nurses and staff at Columbia were great! Everyone was very friendly, caring, and very professional. Dr. Smith did a great job. As a result of his expertise, I am now feeling far better than I did for a long time before the surgery. I thank Dr. Smith and everyone at Columbia very much for their caring and professionalism.

Dr. Smith, his Physician Assts., nurses, his Admin staff provided excellent care for me. The RNs in the critical care area after my surgery were superb, as were the RNs in the Step Down area. Thank you so much.

When it is recommended that you would best be served if you had open heart surgery, I am sure you can appreciate how daunting this news can be, especially if you have had no symptoms which was my case. Because my husband has been a heart patient at New York Presbyterian for years, we are very familiar with and appreciative of the doctors whose life you put in their hands. Needless to say, there was no question in my mind as to where I needed to be. My cardiologist recommended Dr. Craig Smith if open heart was the procedure of choice and Dr. Smith it was. I felt safe over the few weeks leading up to the surgery and there were no questions about the choice of care. I am now home, healing and ever so grateful to Dr. Smith and his team.

Dr. Smith saved my life! I was a complex case and he exhausted all cutting edge options for me. Eight hours, 2 new valves, partial repair on another and partial replacement of my aorta and I’m here to be a mom to my 2 children. No one else could have done what he did!

Dr Smith surgically repaired my mitral valve as well as performed three bypasses on coronary arteries blocked 90, 95, and 100%. I had zero complications and thank God for Dr. Smith's skill!

I scheduled a minimally invasive mitral valve repair. Day if surgery he was going to cut me open. He didn't remember me or our conversation. He did minimal invasive procedure- I needed 2 unit transfusion, had partially collapsed lung and 2 months later my valvee was worse than when I went in. I had to have another surgeon do a proper repair and fix what was not done right Worst bedside manner - has a good complex
