List of David Keefe's Reviews
Most attentive md ever. Very very knowledgeable and gentle
I waited over two months for an appointment for egg retrieval, while my two white friends were seen within two weeks of calling. I have no accent, only speak English, am a third generation brown person, and I was told by the woman making the appointment she couldn’t understand my accent. I assumed she was just a racist outlier, but my treatment at NYU was pretty consistent to that first phone call. Before my appointment with Dr. Keefe, I was told to call a number the first day of my period, to come in for a blood test. I called the number every ten minutes for over an hour and a half. I got a loop message saying they weren’t open until 7am… I was calling between 8:15 and 10am. When I went to my blood drawing appointment, they were confused why I was there, and when I checked out I was lectured about affordability. I was told how expensive my procedures would be and how they aren’t for everyone. I was the only non white person in the waiting room and the only one receiving this unsolicited advice. After I met with Dr. Keefe, I was told by his coordinator, Ivette, I would have to wait two more cycles to start egg retrieval because there’s a six week waiting list for some class that I had to take before I could start the process. When I told her this is unacceptable and I feel discriminated against, because two of my friends are patients and didn’t have to wait FIVE cycles before getting egg retrieval. She told me I must not have been asking the right questions - no, I was either speaking to someone incompetent or they weren’t listening to what I was saying, because they were too focused on my skin color or my last name to care. My two white friends, got to do egg retrieval between two and six weeks, but the brown person has to wait five months? I honestly feel unsafe leaving my eggs, with their non white DNA, in the hands of a hospital that has a higher than average mortality rate of ethnic minorities dying in child birth. NYU refused to release my blood test results to their portal - what do I have to say or do to make them treat me half as decent as they treated my white friends.
This guy is an absolute moron. He has no understanding of medicine, doesn't know how to treat patients, and should not be practicing. Stay away at all costs
Dr. Keefe and Evette are the best! Evette was extremely helpful in setting up my appointment, and went above and beyond to help me! Not only did Dr. Keefe come into the office just for me, but he was so understanding, caring, and knowledgeable. I've been to a lot of doctors for help with endometriosis, but he was the first to really help. He truly has the best bedside manner, you can tell he really cares : )
Dr. Keefe and NYU RE team are the best in New York!
He is very kind and really understand his patients fears. He is the best!! (Simone Regis)
Dr. Keefe wasn't my primary RE, but I saw him several times during morning ultrasounds. He was always friendly, gentle, and spent extra time answering questions. He correctly judged my dose and adjusted it when necessary. I looked into his research, and he is very well published and cited. I always look forward to having him be the attending of the day (the other REs at NYU are excellent as well).
Dr. Keefe is outstanding diagnostically, well researched and cited, and has the most amazing bedside manner. He spends extra time with this patients to address their concerns. I wish he could be my doctor through the whole process!
I saw Dr. Keefe when he was at Tufts in Boston. He was our last resort after 7 failed IVFs. He took us into his office and spoke with us about our options. We tried 1 last IVF with him... (and his fancy microscope!) and 8 months later, we had twin girls. Amazing doctor, with a fantastic bedside manner.
Dr Keefe was nothing but outstanding. After having four recurrent miscarriages and not much hope left, I went to Dr Keefe after being told about him by many different people. He was kind, considerate and incredibly personable through a rather scary time! After a few tests, he was the only doctor in 8 years to have gotten to the bottom of my fertility problems. He recommended an FET cycle with PGD. For me, the protocol he used worked and I feel pregnant the first time using one embryo. We have another 3 other embryos in the freezer for when we are ready. My experience was 5 star. He has his own secretary who works full time which is really helpful too. I honestly couldn't recommend him highly enough.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
