Doctor Scher is the BEST DOCTOR!!!!

My 13 year old niece has been seeing Dr Scher for a while. One of her hips is 50% displaced and she needs surgery. He referred her to another doctor who specializes in that procedure because it's complicated. The other doctor doesn't take any of the 3 insurances that she has, so we have been trying to find someone else on our own-tonight she started crying in pain & won't walk on it which is totally new. I told my sister to call his office & speak to the doctor on call. It was Dr Scher. When he called back, he said "oh, i thought this was an emergency" and then twice he had to say that he was at home eating dinner at his table. He asked her why they didn't get the CT scan done & my sister told him they rescheduled it because her husband died the day it was scheduled. He told her to call the office in the morning they'll get her in for an injection. Wow.This little girl has been through more in 13 years than most people go through in a lifetime. She didn't cry when she broke her arm or got botox injections in her hamstrings or had surgery on her spinal cord, so yes, when she's crying in pain and won't walk, its an emergency. He was more concerned about eating his dinner.

I brought my 5 yr old son to Dr. Scher after he suffered an elbow injury which required surgery (July 2020). The entire process was informative and Dr. Scher and his staff made us and our son feel safe, reassured and at ease. We feel blessed to have found him and would recommend him to any parent.

Dr Scher is fantastic with my son. He is thorough and very patient. He answers all of our questions and take time to explain things directly to my son.

When our daughter was born (October 2016) with both of her feet turned completely outward we were so afraid. All of the Dr.'s in the hospital where she was born were calling it "club foot" but a simple search on google showed us that in every case of club foot the child's feet were turned inward. We were referred to Dr. Scher by our pediatrician and we also knew someone who's son was treated by Dr. Scher for a severe case of club foot. After months of castings Dr. Scher was finally able to diagnose our daughter with a rare foot deformity called an Oblique Talus. I cannot say enough about this man. He is not only an extraordinary doctor but he is also an extraordinary human being. The level of care that we receive from him, his team and the hospital as a whole is truly beyond words. He is patient and takes his time to explain to us frightened parents what is going on and what to expect. Imagine your infant going in for surgery (it is terrifying) however it is much more comforting knowing that the Dr. who is in charge is a brilliant, compassionate soul who truly cares deeply for each child he treats. We are forever grateful!

Our son has been treated by Dr. Scher for congenital bilateral clubbed feet since he was 1 week old. Dr. Scher is an absolutely brilliant, kind and supportive doctor/surgeon. His bedside manner is wonderful, he thoroughly answers any and all questions/concerns parents have and is excellent interacting with his delicate, little patients. We feel blessed that we were able to be referred to Dr. Scher to treat our son and will be forever grateful to him for enabling our son the opportunity to meet developmental gross motor milestones as children most often do. In addition, the casting staff that works along with Dr. Scher are equally as kind and wonderful with both parents and little patients!

Dr. Scher helped correct my sons club foot after 4 years of being treated elsewhere. Now my 5 year old can finally act like the active energized kid again. Dr.Scher was honest, reassuring, and very compassionate and we are so grateful for his help in correcting my sons foot! Thank you.

Dr Scher has been a wonderful physician to my daughter for many years. He brought her condition from serious to normalcy, which is marvellous. Being a Columbia trained Physician myself, he remainds me of the Professors that I worked for at the beginning of my career: he exudes true competence, embodies dedication, with real class.

My daughter was born with a rare foot deformity called Oblique Tallus and I was referred to Dr. Scher by my pediatrician. I thank god for that referral every day! Since her birth in October 2016 Dr. Scher has been treating her and has performed 2 surgeries to correct my daughter's feet. The level of knowledge and care that this man offers is extraordinary! We are so thankful for Dr. Scher and his team for everything he has done for our daughter and for us! Thank you.
