The appointment didn't go how I expected -- we barely spoke about my actual health concerns, and instead, he talked about unrelated things. It didn't feel genuine or focused on my situation, and overall just felt off. The bigger problem was with the scheduling and communication. It was almost impossible to reach anyone, and the front desk lady (who seems to be related to him) was extremely rude and disorganized. She messed up my appointment dates multiple times- once I drove an hour just to find the office closed. She also kept confusing my name and didn't seem to understand how to handle basic scheduling. Because of all the confusion and poor communication, I ended up leaving and stopping treatment altogether. Very disappointing experience overall, even though Dr. Borenstein himself seemed okay.

My experience aligns with many of the other negative reviews. I failed H. pylori treatment under this doctor, and no herbal or alternative options were offered. The treatment plan felt generic and rushed, and when I brought up side effects and ongoing symptoms, they were dismissed without concern. After a second positive test confirmed I still had the infection, I called and asked for help--explaining that I had just lost my job and couldn't afford another $500 appointment just to receive treatment (my labs were already in his system). His response? "I never want to see or speak to you again." He also told me I was one of the most rude and disrespectful "clients" he's ever had the "burden" to work with--this, after I was crying and begging for support over the phone. He refused to even glance at my lab results without charging for a full visit. After that call, he fired me as a patient, then randomly prescribed four different medications--with no instructions whatsoever or any follow up. Earlier on, he had also prescribed thyroid medication that several other doctors later confirmed was completely unnecessary. The supplement regimen alone cost hundreds of dollars through fullscript ( which yes he does make $$$ from you ordering off the app) Throughout this process, he AND the receptionist was consistently defensive, dismissive, and rude--not people who seems genuinely interested in helping patients find answers. His practice clearly caters to a very specific type of client, and VERY fortunately, I realized I'm not one of them. Other reviewers are right when they say he doesn't tolerate questions or doubts--he takes offense quickly and responds unprofessionally.

I thank God everyday for Dr.Borenstein!! He’s absolutely the best.He’s been treating me for over two years and has given me my life back!! You can’t find a better Dr.

This guy is a fraud. He has an abhorrent bed side manner. Not sure why some thyroid advocates recommend this man. He put me in the icu in myxedema crisis because he lowered my hormone drastically on error and decided I must learn a lesson to not question him and he refused to raise it because this is how I will learn.

Don’t waste your money Dr. Borenstein is more interested in making money than providing medical care to you.

Very unprofessional and unethical. I also question his so-called expertise. If you don’t respond to his treatment protocols he will blame you and fire you as a patient. If his treatments aren’t working he becomes flabbergasted and doesn’t know how to respond or address issues. He is full of himself and completely arrogant which would be tolerable if he had the expertise he claims. He is everything wrong with medicine and I question how he can be practicing at all. He is to medicine what McDonalds is to fine dining. Stay away, his good reviews are all fake.

He ignored obvious problems in my lab work! When I asked why certain things were happening with my thyroid, he insulted me. Not professional! 4 yrs of seeing dr b getting no answers, in spite of asking if something deeper could be wrong, and I fired him —one month later I finally got diagnosed and getting treatment.

He was good at first, but when I started to question his protocol or ask why I was having certain symptoms related to his treatment, he got defensive. WTH? Not professional at all and bad bedside manner! Anyone that goes outside of traditional medicine usually has exhausted all their options and needs caring, listening, smart physician. Unfortunately, Dr. B is not!
