He didn't read my chart and gave me a med that WAS NOT FOR ME!!! He doesn't read the chart that they ask you to write. . He docent call when you have an infection. Its your responsibility to call him.
The impression I got from Dr. Gage and his office is that they seem greedy and selfish. Not something I look for in a doctor.
Never go to this place. The staff has sent several bills for the past one year which I paid and my insurance has covered. Almost a year and a half later they send my information to collections without sending any bill for such an amount. After making thousands of dollars from my visits (hardly been there 3-4 times in early 2016 ) ,they still keep generating bills and keep using patients information.
Please avoid this doctor at all costs. This doctor is extremely greedy and careless. I have thyroid for more than 7 years now so I know a lot about the disease. I went to him for the first time recently because my old doctor doesn't accept my new insurance. When I went to his office for the first time for a routine blood test and a prescription refill , he asked me to do several other tests which are very expensive. I never heard of those tests from any of my pasts doctors so I was certain that he is fooling me. I asked the Nurse not to do those extensive tests and just do the routine tests.Generally after the blood tests , you get a call from doctor's office about your blood report. But not here. They will just send you a mail that too after a month or more. Even if you want to talk to doctor about the results there is no way.Now let's come to the prescription. I was told that my prescription was sent to my pharmacy. My bad that I trusted them. Prescription was never sent and I realized it only when I was running out of medicines. I tried calling doctor's office for 2 days . No one picked up. I had to physically go to their office to get the prescription refilled. I had to skip my dosage for few days because of all this drama. The lady at the reception is responsible to send the prescription refill order to their pharmacy department. She was not even sorry for missing it and was extremely rude.
So grateful to have found Dr. Gage.I have been a patient for several years and have had excellent care.Dr. Gage's office is one stop care for diabetes patients and weight loss needs. All testing and nutritional counseling is done right in the offices and is so easyto deal with.Book ahead for an early AM or late appointment.
amazing doctor very caring and very very knowlengeble
Dr. Gage is a fabulous doctor, very knowledgeable about thyroid/diabetes/weight loss. He saved my life. I was able to stop my meds after losing weight and am no longer diabetic. My husband's thyroid condition was diagnosed and has been monitored with the right meds. Dr. Gage is very caring and thorough. Dr. Janof is excellent and helped me lose the weight to be off the meds. They make a great team. He has a wonderful, caring staff.
Dr. Gage is wonderful. He is a real physician, and so experienced. I have been a patient in his office for the last few months, and each time, I am tested thoroughly and actually sit down in his office to review the results. He asks the appropriate questions and spends the time needed to counsel me on losing weight. I'm about 15 pounds down now and starting to feel wonderful. I really feel as if he is taking care of me. His staff is excellent and they actually remember who I am. Also--they are the same people working there each time, which tells you a lot about this doctor's character and the high-level of organization in his practice. He is just wonderful and I hope to be his patient for many years to come.
I have never been more frustrated, anrgy, and upset with a doctor in my life. I am a 24 year old who was recently diagnosed with Hashimotos disease, a form of hypothyroidism. I have been feeling terrible for about 6 months now and have been trying to find the right Endocrinologist in Manhattan. I was please during my first visit, where Dr. Gage took the time to sit down with me and go over all of my symptoms, have me take a bunch of tests to rule everything out, and reassured me that we would work everything out.I got multiple blood tests taken, and after about a week and a half of not hearing back from the office about my results, I called, only to find out that "they couldn't find my labs". The administrators were rude, and it took me another two weeks and 5 phone calls to find out that something went wrong with the lab and I had to come back in for more blood work. After my second round of blood work and this time allergy testing, I waited another two weeks, still didn't hear back from the office. I called to find out my blood results (because they don't call you to tell you, they send you the results in the mail) and also found out that the allergy testing didn't go through because my insurance didn't cover it, something I only found out because I called the office myself.I then went in another time for follow up blood work (I should have just left then) and received my results in the mail. Several of the results were abnormal, but because they weren't "life threatening", I didn't receive a call from Dr. Gage to go over anything. I have called the office and left a message for the past 3 days, and still have no received a call back from him. I have NEVER in my life encountered such a blatant disrespect for a patients questions and concerns. I will most definitely not be going back to Dr. Gage, and I would not recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
