We recently took our almost two-year-old daughter to Dentistry for Children, and the experience was nothing short of amazing, thanks to the incredible Dr. Amanda Dewundara. From the moment we walked in, Dr. Amanda made our daughter feel comfortable, safe, and even curious about her dental visit. She was so kind and caring, taking the time to engage our daughter with toys, songs, and gentle explanations of every tool and step along the way. Dr. Amanda didn’t just treat our daughter, she connected with her. This was only a routine cleaning, but the level of care and attention made it feel so much more meaningful. Compared to our daughter’s first dental visit at another practice, which felt rushed and impersonal, this visit was a complete 180. Dr. Amanda went above and beyond. She patiently answered all of our questions, educated us on dental hygiene best practices, and even gave us a super helpful “Tooth Snack Guide” to help prevent cavities. Honestly, this was the best dental visit I’ve ever experienced, even as an adult. I genuinely wish Dr. Amanda could be my dentist! If you're looking for a thoughtful, thorough, and truly child-centered dental experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Amanda and Dentistry for Children enough. You and your child will be in the best hands.
Dr.Danielle is great with my 3 year and 7 year old kids!!
Dr. Orellana was patient, knowledgeable and amazing with my toddler. Answered all my questions. Thank you!
The dentist was very professional and took the time to answer all of my questions. He was also very good helping my 6 year old feel comfortable in the chair. It was quick but thorough as a kid’s dentist appointment should be! Very happy and would recommend.
Made an appointment with the front desk almost a month ago. I was told someone would call me to confirm the appointment or to Let me know about a location in Brooklyn that may be more convenient as the dr has an office there as well. On the day of my appointment, today, I called the office to make sure we were still good for today as no one ever called or left a message otherwise. At this point I was told that the dr was not in and that they were sorry but that the next apoointmet would be November 8th. Just really annoyed and disappointed that they never followed up and wasted my time.
I had one of the worst days ever I haven't slept in over 24 hours because my two-year-old had a bad tooth that needed to be pulled so after going to two places that couldn't help me I ended up here and this place is amazing! They are so good with children and the set up is really cute they have toys they have a play area they have a movie area they also have a area where the kids can play videogames.I just would Iike to thank them for helping my baby if you are a parent feel me when I say seeing your child in pain is the worst feeling ever!
We want to share our story about Dentistry for Children and especially Dr. Kenneth . Markel. We are going to leave our emotions out of this situation and simply present to all parents the facts. We have gone to this practice for 4 years and though we have always been put off by Dr. Ken's condescending tone, his office was close so we continued to go. We always accompany our children into the dentists' rooms where their cleanings took place though Dr. Ken does not support this. In early December we went for our children's regular check ups and Dr. Ken brought my husband and I into his office to discuss putting sealant on our 6-year-old daughter's mature molars. He explained that our daughter would have an X-ray and then the sealant is placed on the teeth, he said it was a very quick and painless process that would take approximately 30 minutes. Dr. Ken indicated it would be best if we did not go in the room with our daughter during the process since children do better without the parents. My husband and I agreed and scheduled the appointment. My husband brought her to the office and she went in for the procedure easily, when she was finished Victor, Dr. Ken's assistant, came out and said to my husband "she did very well, we gave her laughing gas." My husband was wrapping up so was a bit confused and did not probe further at the time. He called me immediately and I followed up with a call to the office to understand what exactly they did to our daughter. I was told, "yes your daughter was given nitrous, it is a common thing the dentist does." We are parents that do everything in our power to avoid our children from taking any type of medication and we were not informed or asked if our child could receive "laughing gas," during the procedure. Laughing gas was not brought up or mentioned during the initial consultation and even with my husband in the waiting room they never thought it appropriate to come out and ask for verbal permission to use it on our daughter. I asked the assistant to have Dr. Ken contact me so I could understand exactly what was done and how much of the drug she received. When Dr. Ken called me back, he began by saying, "I understand you are upset, and I want you to know the procedure went very well, the only reason Victor even told your husband about the laughing gas was because your daughter had a small mark on her face from the mask." In other words, we would never of known about the laughing gas if for not that mark. When I asked how he could possibly of given the drug to my daughter without our consent he said, it falls under something called "implied consent," since we agreed to have the sealant. I shared concerns with Dr. Ken, specifically what if my daughter is allergic to the nitrous and has a reaction and even more concerning the fact that my daughter was in a room with two male doctors under the nitrous. When I asked my daughter what happened she said that Dr. Ken told her he was going to give her "laughing gas, and it was very good for her since it will make her relax." At the conclusion of my discussion with Dr. Ken he said that he was sorry and that he made an "error in his judgment." As parents, we cannot afford for errors in judgment. So we share our story with you and caution all those that do take their children to this practice. You should ensure that your records indicate that under no circumstances should your child receive any medication or procedures without your verbal or written consent and I would also strongly encourage you to insist that you go into the rooms with them regardless of their age.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
