While Dr. Gerstner has a great attitude and is quick to help diagnose you and pivot if something is not working, it is probably the only place I have ever been that you are expected to spend $700 or even thousands of dollars without any questions asked. Not only is the pricing not transparent upfront, but the staff basically rolls their eyes and treats you like you are haggling a $5 fee if you ask for an itemized bill before forking over your credit card for a bill that is multiples of what you would have expected for a 20 minute appointment. I have been pretty happy with the treatments/prescriptions she has offered but object to the “money is no object” attitude. Update: called to ask for a refill and staff was rude again. Stated I had to come in for a check up and refused to refill prior to that. She did not help me make a virtual or in person appointment and just snootily ended the call. Given you must pay to be a patient of Dr. Gerstner (up front, not refundable) I would expect a greater standard of care and service.

Had to update a stellar review I had written recently due to two bad experiences with her staff. Dr. Gerstner is wonderful— expensive but worth it. However, her staff is incredibly rude. The first time I wrote it off as a bad day/possible miscommunication but with this second incident I see it’s the way the staff is. It’s unfortunate because as a patient you end up dealing with the staff a fair amount between billing, product orders and scheduling and they’re very difficult. You would think at such a high end office the staff would be patient-oriented. Too bad.

Dr. Gerstner is the best in NYC. I was delighted with my laser treatment for my acne scars. I would recommend her to my peers no questions asked. She's Worth every dollar.

Be prepared for sticker shock, but she's an excellent dermatologist, for aesthetic and clinical work alike. I recommend her without reservation.

I have been a patient of Dr Gerstner for almost 15 years . I have the utmost confidence in her! She is brilliant , warm and gentle. She goes above and beyond to make sure anything that looks slightly suspicious is reacted to immediately in a calming manner. I trust her with my life and highly recommend her . Everyone in the office makes me feel like I'm the only patient in the practice .

I have not met a doctor as narcissistic as this woman. incompetent and narcissistic. even her bathroom wallpaper has her image on it. its so sad that it is almost funny. her clear and brilliant treatment of my face, neck and chest (one body part per her) lasted 4 mins. my treatment with other dermatologist was 10 mins for my face alone. rip off!

I have been a patient of Dr. Gerstner’s for a number of years and have always appreciated her one-on-one approach that allowed her not only to understand my goals, but to design a plan that was specifically tailored to achieve them. I have also witnessed how she delivers a caring, compassionate and reassuring touch that lets her patients know they are in excellent hands. Most recently, after my body was ravaged by the treatment I received for two types of cancer, she helped me reclaim my self-esteem. While my oncologists saved my life (for which I will be forever grateful), she did no less by returning my sense of self, where I once again recognized my reflection in the mirror. She made me feel beautiful and enjoy life again. For that, I am also forever grateful!

Dr. Gerstner is simply the best. She does everything from the most cutting edge cosmetic dermatology to extensive cancer research and care. I highly recommend her to anyone no matter what their skincare needs!
