Dr Edwin Joe is the most thorough, knowledgeable pediatric dermatologist that I've ever encountered. Unlike most doctors, he approaches the problem systematically and logically, and then he actually takes the time to explain as much as he can, in addition to being available to address concerns with you, the patient, the pharmacist, the program, and any other peripheral doctors concerned. His approach might be very matter-of-fact and business-like, which can be off-putting to some people who need a doctor that's warm and holds-your-hand (but sometimes, those "personable" doctors are the worst because they follow their hearts, not their brains so, many times, they don't know what they're talking about & are not well-versed in the medical field), but that's what makes him a great doctor, because he approaches problems like an extremely well-educated and superb scientist, which is really the best that you can hope for, because great doctors will always fix your medical problems, whereas warm bedside-doctors (who don't have a clue what they're doing, like Dr Emily J Ceisler) will attend your funeral.

I could not disagree more with the above review and must conclude that the reviewer had some dispute with Dr. Joe and wrote a terrible review as revenge. My experience has been quite the opposite. I never wait long to see Dr. Joe, his treatments have always been effective, he takes the time to explain the treatments to me, his check-ups are thorough, if I need a prescription re-fill I only need to call his office, which then promptly phones the pharmacy. I have no complaints about Dr. Joe.

Extremely rushed. Didn't explain procedures and did so in a crude manner.

Dr. Joe performed laser removal of dark sun spots. Within a week of the procedure, I looked ten years younger. The cosmetic result was more than I could have hoped for. In addition to his expertise and professionalism, he has a great rapport with his patients.

Great bedside manner. Very comfortable around him (had a full-body mole check). Takes time to listen, and has no problem letting patients discuss more than one issue in a single appointment. I would recommend him.

Excellent Dermatologist and very professional. Took the time to listen to my story, evaluate my condition and most importantly, to explain the details of treatment and outlook. Answered all my questions. Extremely knowledgeable about Lasers. I can see why he had been recommended to me by friends and several physicians in the New York area. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a competent and friendly dermatologist.

Excellent dermatologist, very competent. He prescribed several ointments which successfully treated my daughter's psoriasis, after other dermatologists wrongly diagnosed her with... eczema!
