Zero stars if I could. Horrible experience. A doctor should help their patients, not harm them and then refuse to listen to them if they have an issue with their office. I was left a message the DAY before a procedure that I had to “either reschedule my appointment or pay another $150 for the procedure” so nonchalantly like that was no big deal. Not even a 24 hour notice and I had arranged my life ...
Horrible doctor and person. I wish I’d read the other google reviews here instead of the reviews on HER website. She was so Rude, arrogant, dismissive, had no knowledge of Ic and treated me with COMPLETE disrespect and instead of actually CARING about the pain I was in and helping me, she was rough with me, condescending and rude. I have had interstitial cystitis for 34 years and because I travel I have literally been to Urologists all over the world. Oh and NEVER paid $100 and $135 co pays. I have motion picture insurance with no deductibles or co pays it sometimes have to pay a $30 for a specialist. Her co pays are ridiculous but when I asked about it, OMG, she freaked out on me. If you have IC, AVOID THIS PLACE PLEASE 🙏 !!!!! I was called the DAY before my procedure and told “You either have to reschedule or pay ANOTHER $150 for your procedure because we don’t have the right needles”. That was the message, which of course upset me bc I had planned the day off work, etc. and it was so rude and WHY should I be penalized for them not having the right supplies. ANYONE WOULD BE UPSET BY THAT BUT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE A VOICE OR SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF AT THIS AWFUL PLACE. She and her staff will blame YOU and treat you even worse if you ask any questions. During my procedure she and her nurse were SO INCREDIBLY RUDE and all she talked about was the CO PAY. Yes, I find her co pays OUTRAGEOUS but I was upset by the message I received the day before my procedure. THAT was what I was upset about. Also, I did change my procedure date but they knew I was upset so they called me back but she had the nerve to say to me “Someone else is not getting this treatment because of YOU!” WOW, just wow. That was my surgical time and date AND I did not ask them to call me back. But she shamed ME all through the procedure and her nurse was awful. I’ve had this procedure done 4-5 other times and my CA Dr’s made sure I could pee afterward, cared about me, were gentle and loving toward me as a Dr should and sent me home with a home catheter. SHE DID NOT CARE!!!! I mean, NOT AT ALL!!!!! She just walked out the door and slammed it and her rude nurse said “There’s the bathroom if you need it”. WOW!!! I came home and it hurt so much to pee that I almost went to the ER. Her LACK OF CONCERN FOR ME OR MY WELL BEING was something I have NEVER experienced with another Dr or practice. EVER! Also, the first visit she spent 5 MINUTES with me and charged me a $100 co pay but God forbid I asked WHY. She kept saying “that’s between you and your insurance”. I didn’t bother arguing with her bc she had to be right and did not care about me one bit. I saw it VERY CLEARLY during my procedure and I will never step foot in this place. Also NO ONE CALLED ME LATER THAT DAY OR THE NEXT DAY. which is unacceptable to me. Every other time I’ve had it, I’ve been checked on but she and her staff did not care one bit. Save yourself the nightmare and go someplace else and please read the google reviews, not the ones on her website. Worst doctor experience I’ve ever had and as I said, I’ve been going to urologists for a very painful condition that has disrupted my quality of life. It has a high suicide rate among women and I want a Dr who is kind, knows what she’s doing and isn’t horrible to me. That’s only fair.
One of the best doctors I’ve ever met. Knowledgeable, kind, thorough and open minded.
Such a bad experience and since the doctor is out of network patient have to pay out of pocket 750 usd for a visit with a doctor that does not seem to care much about her patients. I waited an hour and a half to be seen by dr. Kavaler for a literally five minutes long visit. The doctor gave me two different treatments but none of them worked and then stopped answering my requests. She reassured the first and only time I saw her that she was going to fix my issue and that if one treatment did not work we would have tried different ones (that justified the cost). The treatment was given even before she had the results of my urine, so I don’t even know how she diagnosed my issue. I was hoping to solve an issue I had for many years, and seeing all the positive reviews I thought I was in good hands. But my experience was a total disappointment. Not just the doctor and her lack of care, but also the office was very rude. They gave me such an attitude and hard time when I requested to submit the claim to my insurance.
I have been a patient of Dr. Kavalar’s for many years. My experience with her and her staff has always been excellent. Reaching her office to schedule an appointment or ask a question is always quick and stress free. Dr. Kavalar is kind, caring, knowledgeable and a good listener. She is an excellent surgeon who can also provide outstanding medical care. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Elizabeth Kavaler and her team are extraordinarily compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Kavaler is also very generous with her time when she is responding to questions and educating her patients. -Karen Kalish
Dr Kavalar listened well to my concerns. She recommended some natural products for dryness I could use rather than medicines. She created a plan with me to manage UTI’s that has worked very well.
Truly wonderful experience. Everyone very pleasant and professional, and knowledgeable. Very pleasant office environment.
Didn't help with my issue. I paid required (demanded) fee of $800 upfront, out of pocket; practice "offered" to file my out-of-network claim and then refused to reimburse me, stating I owed the balance of some outrageous sum. It was never explained that they would file the claim on my behalf and keep the insurance payment-- in addition to the payment that I had already made. I was told the visit was $800 and that's what I expected to be able to make a claim for. In other words, I got no O-O-N coverage for this visit. In my opinion very deceptive. I go to O-O-N doctors all the time and have never had this problem. I pay them and then get reimbursed, period. Offered no insight into my condition, told me I didn't have an infection, then later left a voicemail stating that I did have an infection, prescribed a drug and left the message, "Don't take the antibiotic unless you have symptoms." Never followed up to see if I got message or advise on handling a recurrent UTI. Also brought a male doctor to "observe" a new patient which made me uncomfortable; I was asked permission only in his presence, not ahead of time. Obviously if I wanted a male doctor I would have made an appointment with one, that's why I went to a female doctor to begin with. A very upsetting experience, I have made another appointment with a new doctor. Be warned. This is just bad medicine.
I've been going to Dr Kaveler for years and she even did a surgery on me (prolapse) which was excellent. She is smart and compassionate.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
