List of Filopoulos's Reviews
I went to see Dr. Filopoulos as a new patient. She asked a lot of questions about my medical history but spoke very quickly and didn’t really listen. She would never let you finish a sentence always interrupting me. Always trying to predict what I'm going to say. She was very Hyper and negative. When I questioned her about her recommendations, she would get upset and have negative comments about my questions. It got to a point where I had to say, 'would you let me talk and listen'. Ended up getting into a shouting match with her. I ended up asking for a different doctor. I will never use her again. If you really want your medical problems solved by a doctor who cares and listens. Don't go to her!!!
I went to see Dr Filopoulos as a consult. She asked a lot of questions about my medical history, but spoke very quickly and didn’t really listen. Hyper and negative- she had a negative comment for most things I told her. She seemed overly alarmed about one test result and proceeded to tell me how bad that result was. (Went back to my original dr afterwards and he told me that was expected and I shouldn’t worry.). The most disturbing thing was when she told me to cut my thyroid tablets in half, which NO endo tells you to do since the dosage will be different each time. The appointment felt frenzied and fast. I couldn’t remember most of my questions because she kept interrupting me. My head was spinning when I left. Will not be going back to her.
I saw Dr. F in Feb to pursue the possibility of a thyroid condition, considering I've had worsening symptoms for the past 2 decades, and semi-recently off test results. My worst symptoms are crushing fatigue and constipation, followed by temp regulation problems and heavy periods every 3wks, etc. I was told that these symptoms were 'unlike any associated with a thyroid disorder' and to seek a psychiatrist. There were no further suggestions. Months later via a rheumatologist appt my tsh and t4 levels have continued to fall and are now both below range, as well as another adrenal lab result. I will be seeking a different endocrinologist to consult this time.
I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews. She’s actually one of the few doctors I ve been to who did a very thorough physical exam and even asked me detailed questions about my family history. She spent a lot of time with me and I felt she really listened to me. So I really think she s awesome.
I was a new patient, explaining my history of hypothyroid symptoms, and at no point in the appointment did I feel Dr. Filopoulos took any of my concerns seriously. I was told that ongoing fatigue, constipation, depression, heavy/frequent periods etc, were not symptoms at all associated with a thyroid disorder, and that my problems were likely psychological (despite having had an out-of-range TSH in the past). Dr. F seemed to disbelieve my answers to questions, often asking me to repeat them- and in the case of whether or not I had acne, I was actually asked to take my mask off so she could see for herself (she seemed surprised I don't have acne, as stated). Then, post appointment, I received a voicemail that all my results "look fine"- with the option to video discuss them in 2 wks, or just check back in 3 months- but was not actually given the results, as I assumed was standard Mychart procedure. I was apprehensive going into this appointment, and of explaining my history-rightly so
Dr. Filopoulos is the sweetest doctor I've ever had! She looks at me as a person, and she really cares. She helped me control my diabetes and I'm very grateful for that.
I saw Dr Filopoulos for a second opinion and I was impressed by her knowledge. She took the time to listen to me, my concerns and explained my condition in detail. Very sincere and honest. On top of my main condition I was able to lose weight thanks to her advice. Highly recommended.
First time seeing Dr Filopoulos, she spent quite a bit of time with me getting background info and asking a lot of questions. Seems very caring and thorough.
Dr Filopoulos is the best Endocrinologist I know. She is caring, super thorough and knows what she’s doing. She helped me through a very complicated issue and I’m very grateful. Thanks so much.
Dr. Filopolous is awesome! Very thorough in taking patient history. Very caring. Actually takes the time to go thru a Q&A and makes sure to provide answers to health questions. I was concerned about side effects I was experiencing, so I called her office in midtown. She called me back within 2 hours! Thanks for your help :>

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
