Frederick Ast Md's Online Review Report Card

Unresponsive, overcrowded, must come in to hear results of test if you don't have a computer. Now has limited days of the week he is in, and no answering service during that time. Able to reach answering service at night, but not even sure they give the message to the doctor.

My opinion the doctor is friendly he had help a lot but went come to get my prescription I had to call so many times to get my medicine I understand that the man is busy but Come on long it takes to go to you computer and send it to the pharmacy like I said this guy is a god person but the staff not to nice some ice them

Dr. Ast had been busy but still took the time to make me feel like I was the only patient there. I was impressed with the nice facility and the caring staff and friendly can do attitude and smiles.

Compared to the old reviews my experienced differed and dr ast seem to know about my problem, wait time was 20 minutes, the receptionist was very helpful especially with helping me change my insurance which I thought was very nice of him especially when busy. Office alittle run down but dr ast new the solution to my issue and I feel 1000 times better!

Unfortunately to all the negative reviews on here my experienced differed. Went in last week and the male receptionist squeezed me in generously without having to wait months like other rheumatologists in the area like NYU Langone. Reception was fast, check in was easy, my wait time was about 25 minutes and dr ast was more than generous with his information and his explanation of my condition. Office is alittle run down and could use major upgrades but if you really care about the treatment and getting things done then this is the place for it

Where do I start. This doctor does not respect patients and seems to be taking advantage of them for money. On my last visit the doctor was running around doing errands and teaching an intern and barely spent time with me-maybe 5 minutes. Then he says he's sending my bloodwork to a lab in California and that I had to sign something. I was not feeling well so I signed the document without thinking. I then get a letter in the mail from my insurance carrier saying that my claim is not covered because he did not request prior authorization before providing the service. I called and left a message with the receptionist twice because I had a question and he never got back to me. I would not recommend.

This is the worst experience I have had with a doctor's office in my entire life. These people give simultaneous appointments to 3 or 4 people at the same time and they let you wait for hours. When I complained about that the doctor said: it's ok, usually not everyone shows up! Both my husband and I had an appointment: everyone would enter while the doctor was examining my husband, the secretary, another doctor. No privacy at all! And then when I called to ask about some medical documents, the receptionist hung up on me be without answering my question. Never seen people so rude!

Meant to write this sooner but this is a review from Summer 2016. Dr Ast & Dr Rodriguez were pleasant & knowledgeable so experience with the doctors is not the problem, it's the front desk staff! The staff is rude and unprofessional when dealing with paperwork and getting a referral signed off on for insurance purposes. Since the front desk staff is not helpful and sounds no compassion, I will not return to this doctor's office.

The staff is unbelievably rude, they have actually hung up on me. I waited an hour after my schedule appointment time. They claimed to have called in my prescription and never did. Still waiting on my results after calling the office multiple times. Every time I call the person I speak to is unbelievably rude. I had very little time with the doctor who rushed me out. There was no privacy during my actual visit with him, the door was open the entire time. I didn't trust what he was saying and he had absolutely no bed side manner. The office is very run down. I left after being rushed out, I was also very late to work because I had been there so long. They called me frantic saying I left without paying my copay, after I had checked in with them multiple times. I payed it over the phone. The doctor and the staff are extremely unprofessional. It's been like pulling teeth to get basic information. Once I can finally get my lab and x-ray results from them, I will never communicate or go to see them again. Horrible office.

Dr. Ast is the best doctor I ever went to. He told me what was wrong right away. The only thing bad is that the staff are rude. All in all Dr. Ast is a great doctor.
