Successfully performed TAVR on me 12/2022....now recovered

Dr. George was my surgeon and advised mitral valve repair surgery. My experience and care from the beginning of the process to the end was great. I was 56 years old and so scared. My experience with Dr. Isaac George, his staff, nurses in the OR, ICU & Med Surg was phenomenal & Columbia Hospital overall was outstanding. I was explained in great detail my condition, what to expect before during and after surgery.

Dear Dr. George, I am writing with my deepest thanks for performing such a skilled open heart surgery valve replacement for me on May 4th. I have recovered quickly, and after three months I was back to table tennis, pickleball and all my usual activities. I also felt the care of the nurses and nurse practitioners was excellent – Bianca, Margaret and Alan – are three that come to mind. In your office, Yanira, was also so attentive and caring. I was lucky to be referred to him for a complex open heart surgery to fix aortic aneurysm, aortic valve and (as a bonus discovered during diagnostic tests for the former two) coronary artery blockage requiring CABG. He had the rare (and excellent) skills to perform all three in one procedure, and the surgery went off perfectly. As a bonus I found him (despite his very busy schedule) to be attentive, responsive and a wonderful human being. Plus he has great staff and assistants in his team at Columbia NYP.

Dr. George was wonderful. He was considerate, thoughtful, careful with detail and presented my surgical options clearly. The surgery went without complications and I am well on my way to recovery. I am so grateful to him. I feel that I have had the perfect doctor for me. I always felt that I was in very safe and capable hands. I would also like to mention his wonderful assistant Yanira Perez. She was so kind and comforting especially when the surgery had to be postponed. I called her many times and she always sounded happy to hear from me. She made sure that I knew what was going on and was very supportive. I feel very blessed and lucky to have had such a good experience and outcome.

Excellent surgeon , great team , lifesaving work

My interaction with Dr. George was great. He took the time to explain where I was at with my heart issue and how he and the surgical staff were going to proceed to correct my leaking heart valve and aorta. The entire staff was great and they gave me was wonderful.
