Jason S Pruzansky's Online Review Report Card

Dr. P explained my fracture, showed and explained the x-rays, and explained two options for treatment. I chose surgery to promote proper healing and better range of motion after healing. Dr. P does everything himself--putting on casts or braces, taking them off; I asked him why because I've had PAs in other surgeons' offices do those things instead. He said he wanted to be sure everything was done right. I appreciated his calm conversation in the hospital prior to my surgery, where he explained everything thoroughly. He's extremely skilled, attentive, interested, and really nice, and I would go to him again in a minute! Oh--his staff is always really helpful and courteous.

Patients often solely report negative experiences online, so it's important to note that I've also left a very positive review for another physician with whom I have a long-standing relationship. I saw Dr. Jason Pruzansky for a minor injury and left the office knowing (and communicating to him, right then and there) that I'd never return. Dr. Pruzansky seems accustomed to working with workers comp patients; it feels to me that his process is much less beneficial for those not in that "bucket." In addition to billing for my in-office visit + x-ray (as expected), he also attempted to add on a global fracture code which would have left me with several hundred dollars out of pocket, as I was leveraging my private insurance plan, not workers comp. When questioned about this, it was positioned as my issue. (Subsequently received a second opinion via a health system -- no global fracture code whatsoever). I work in healthcare and strongly disagree with the way in which he practices medicine.

Phenomenal experience. Efficient and pleasant office staff, lovely facility, and the doctor and radiologist were both great! Dr. Jason Pruzhansky helped me understand my injury and put my mind at ease. He was thorough, patient, and knowledgeable.

I was recommended to Dr. Pruzansky by urgent care. I think he's probably a fine person and a decent doctor but his business practices are extremely lacking. He did literally exactly what they did at urgent care. Took a look at the fingers. Took an x-ray and put it in a splint. He just charged 4x what urgent care did. And look I get it he's an expert and all so I know it should cost more. My issue with the office is that they charged me $1,500 for "surgery" and claimed they manipulated my fingers when they did no such thing. $1,500 of my bill is bull crap. The other half they just over charged for. The offices explanation was that they charged me the $1,500 in the first visit because I would be able to come back for up 3 months and pay less for the subsequent visits. I was never given a choice. Hey do you like me? Am I a good doctor? Would you like to come back? Nope just overcharged with the assumption that I'd be back. They told me this explanation on my third visit. Because I forced them too. It's BS. Stay far away from these crooks.

Hand surgery is arguably the most intricate and complex of procedures in the general field of orthopedics, involving bone, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, nerves, skin, blood vessels and the relationship between them. Any patient can speak to the extraordinary sensitivity of the hand. I was referred to Jason Pruzansky by my rheumatologist after it became clear that the large basal joint and ligaments at the base of my thumb required reconstruction as a result of rheumatoid arthritis. I am a nervous patient of a certain age and Dr. Pruzansky not only addressed my surgical and post-surgical requirements but was exceedingly patient, kind, serious and calming. I recommend him without reservation.

I broke a finger recently and was told by urgent care that I needed to find an orthopedic surgeon to assess it further before the bone started setting (ASAP). After making tons of calls with no luck, I found Dr. Pruzansky on ZocDoc and made an appointment with him for the following morning. Come 5 o'clock the day before, I get an email that the appointment is canceled with no reason given. I call and find out that the doctors are in operations Thursdays and Fridays (so of course they have open appointments for exactly those days on the app) and that they also don't take my insurance (which the app filters before showing you available doctors, of which he was one). So here I am past 5 o'clock scrambling to make a new appointment for tomorrow with another orthopedic surgeon and of course no one is answering calls because they're all closed for the day by this time. I'll have to take my broken pinky somewhere else but I'll save my middle finger just for him.

I had fractured my radius bone in August and had a plate put in my arm by an orthopedic surgeon from North Shore Hospital . Result : Fracture re fractured due to lack of follow up and care. Stay away from Long Island surgeons! I found Dr . Pruzansky on Zocdoc, and I wish he would have done the first surgery . He is a perfectionist, caring, and actually takes time with his patients. Not many Drs would operate on someone else's mess! He did take on the challenge, and is super careful! Dr. Pruzansky is the surgeon to see if u have any issues with upper extremity and hands. He is very confident and takes the time necessary to ensure success !
