I had my prostatectomy in late October '22. Adhering to Dr Hu's pre- and post-surgery guidelines, I was able to compete in rowing regattas within five months of my surgery! Dr Hu and his team were caring, clear in their explanations and responsive to the few post-surgery questions I had.

I am 74 and was diagnosed with 'high volume, high grade' prostate cancer six months ago and soon after had a consultation with Dr. Hu. That appointment was moderately helpful as he was dismissive of treatments other than a radical prostatectomy. After seeing other specialists, one in Boston who recommended Dr. Hu, I decided on a robot-assisted prostatectomy. Dr. Hu did the procedure and I am now cancer-free (PSA <.04), my continence has returned and while there are some ED issues they are improving. As I said to the Doctor, "I'm a happy patient."

If you have to go into this ring, he is the cut man you want in your corner. Dr. Hu is a master of the art of robotic prostate surgery and he is more. He will let you know what to expect, the good and the bad, and how to deal with it. He will answer your questions about comparing your options, i.e., surgery vs. radiology and newer techniques.
