List of Kathleen G. Brennan's Reviews
During my first & ONLY fertility consult w Dr Brennan I had a pap. We ended up using another clinic entirely, and ultimately we conceived naturally. At my first OBG appointment (9 weeks) to my surprise, my OB asked me about the ABNORMAL PAP results from my appointment *8 months ago* w Dr Brennan (OBG could see my health records via the UCLA/Cedars Portal) *I WAS NEVER GIVEN THESE RESULTS* Dr Brennan attempted to contact me ONLY after my OB flagged the abnormal test, and NEVER during the 8 months prior. When I pushed for a "why" Dr Brennan explained that the results would have been discussed at my next appointment, but because I never made one they were never discussed (mind you, this was an initial consult w 0 obligation for a follow up) She blamed me entirely for her inability to communicate abnormal test results. I now have to get a colposcopy at 10 weeks pregnant and am absolutely terrified. Please stay away from this Doctor.
Really appreciated doctor Brennan's both scientific approach and ability to try new protocols and tailor care. Had quite a few docs because os insurance and she's one of my favorites.
We owe our two-mom family to Dr. Brennan, seeing her over the course of 8 years: 3 lovely children and 2 heartbreaking losses. I appreciate her straight-shooting approach as much as her warmth and kindness. She has a sense of humor, is incredibly smart & detail-oriented, and goes absolutely above & beyond for her patients. I can remember her telling me at a low point "let me do the worrying." She thinks outside the box, if necessary, but she's not a wildcard. As for LGBTQ+ care, she was truly stellar, and that's sadly not common in OB care. When we had questions unique to our situation she took the time to call our cryobank and get extra information. When we came to her with LGBTQ specific information & questions, if she couldn't answer right off, her go-to was to say "let me check" rather than being dismissive. While some OBs and REIs I've seen have been truly stumped by our family, she embraced it in all its uniqueness. She won't coddle you, and she won't sugarcoat, but that was exactly what I liked. She's smart, she's determined, and she won't waste your time. The wait time at her office is epic, but I made it work despite my own complicated work life, because her care was so stellar.
Thank you, Dr. Brennan! Outstanding clinical skills for fertility. She is direct to the point, does not waste time, clear and objective communication. As is common at UCLA health, expect terrible wait times for appointments.
Dr. Brennan is great. However, she consistently runs 45 minutes to well over an hour behind schedule. The waiting room always seems to be packed. Given the frequency of fertility appointments, spending more than an hour for what usually ends up being a 5 minute appointment gets old quickly.
If you want someone who is clinically superb and tells you how it is, then Dr. Brennan is your Fertility Doc. I was referred to her from a good friend and I am super happy with my decision. She is the best in her field. I understand people complain about wait time and billing but we had no issues with anything. In fact, I would wait for Dr. Brennan because I trust her.
She is the go to doctor with highest pregnancy success rates for difficult cases. I am one of those as well as two other confirmed similar situations.
Dr. Brennan has been my Reproductive Endocrinologist for 4 years. In that time, I've also seen her colleagues, in a variety of contexts, and all speak highly of Dr. Brennan's surgical skills. She was recommended to us by our Ob/gyn. Under her care, I have experienced an IUI pregnancy with miscarriage due to fetal genetics and the birth of an IVF singleton. I am most of the way through a second singleton pregnancy from my first transfer trying at 40+ years old. I have found Dr. Brennan to be knowledgeable, honest and compassionate. When I asked about protocol alternatives, she was very clear on documented success in a regimen from the literature and where she had experienced success, but could also allow modifications based on my concerns or preferences. Due to my age, I chose banking over several rounds, though she told me she didn't think it was necessary for the family I wanted. Her successes in the 38-42 year old transfer to live baby rate (SART data) is difficult to argue for alternative approaches or banking. Still, I was too nervous to not bank. Looking back, I realize I likely could have saved money had I followed her advice. In showing compassion... when I was facing my miscarriage after disappointing ultrasound results, the discussion we had about resolving my loss was very sensitive. She acknowledged the advantages and disadvantages of each option. Further, she spent time talking about personal coping strategies and the help available. Dr. Brennan doesn't sell the overly-optimistic scenario of any procedure. When I trusted her, I had the fastest success with the least pain (both physical and financial). Her support staff are amazing. Incredibly responsive, knowledge and kind. They made sure I always had what I needed for treatments. I highly recommend Dr. Brennan to any couple having difficult conceiving!

I'm very surprised by these positive reviews. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with Dr. Brennan. Her bedside manner is curt and dismissive. She is not familiar with natural fertility treatments that are backed by scientific research. And she bizarrely refused to order important and routine blood tests. I feel compelled to warn others.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
