Dr Bogun has been my diabetes doctor for 3 years. I was a very late 60+ year old, Type 1 onset, who was not happy with the treatment I was getting elsewhere. She saw me almost immediately, reviewed my antibody test results and changed my medication. I've been seeing her ever 6 months since, and find her considerate, professional, non-dogmatic, and easy to contact. She is not warm and cuddly, but that is not what I was looking for.

I was recommended to Berrie Diabetes Center because Ive been having a unique problem that other endos have yet to figure out. Dr. Bogun called me and wouldnt even listen to me tell her what was going on. She cut me off several times to tell me that what I was telling her was "impossible" and then blamed my situation on me and told me that I'm mismanaging my care. This was without meeting me, knowing me, reading any of my charts or bloodwork, or listening to what I was more than happy to tell her. She was condescending, rude and insulting to the point where I was upset enough to swear & defend myself. Swearing was wrong. But she pushed me for 10 minutes and told me she wouldnt see me. I didnt insult her. After the 5th time she accused me of "mismanaging my diabetes" I said "No I"m ### not". She hung up on me. Berrie was recommended as somewhere to give me hope in finding an explanation and solution. Dr. Bogun made me feel 100x worse. How is she @ Columbia? how is she a doctor?
