Maryam Farag's Online Review Report Card

Had a great visit today. Dr Farag and her staff is very compassionate and efficient. I would recommend anyone to them, although everyone must be recommending them because I can't get another appointment til July. Lol. They are worth the wait.

Unprofessional billing practices. Dr. Farag and the dental hygienist' were WONDERFUL, but unfortunately accountability by the team when it comes to billing practices is lacking. The reception team confirms prior to the appointment that they 'verify' your insurance to make sure things are covered, but in reality, they only look at their internal records (i.e., your prior visits with them) rather than verifying details with the insurance directly. Hence, this doesn't account for any other visits you may have had with other dentist offices when Farag's practice is unable to accommodate due to lack of appointments on their end (even if you verbally tell them you went to another dentist!)It could have been a one-off instance, but the lack of professionalism in handling the situation and taking ownership for the mistake, when verbally telling the patient 'everything will be covered for this visit', is unfortunate. Then slapping a 'final notice' stamp and threatening to send to collections when it's the FIRST instance of an adjusted bill that was actually sent to the patient? I've honestly never dealt with a healthcare office that operates in such an unprofesssional manner like this. When you're running a business, your staff are a reflection of you as well. The experience completely soured the entire practice for me. Moral of the story: ask them to verify DIRECTLY with the insurance and have things IN WRITING from them. Then, verify yourself as well before being seen.

Started going maybe about 15 years ago, and the dentists are wonderful and so are the assistants. They are thorough & work efficiently. I have no complaints. Receptionists are knowledgeable and everyone is very friendly. The actual space is lovely. I have been to other dentists and always compare it to this dentist and many times there is no comparison. I recommend highly. --Marie

Dr. Farag's practice or Dr. F herself are/is murderous and offensive. They cancelled a surgery after an extended wait period and made rubbish statements to me on the phone. However, I was seen in two different appointments -- an initial consult and a pre-surgical appointment. With these two appointments, they have strung me along for ages with the belief that I will have surgery, and then cancelled it days prior to when it was scheduled. They may be doing this in retaliation to me daring to complain about someone who threatened to punch me and slap me several times in the elevator going up to Dr. F's practice. This comes after a wait of several months, all during which my jaw condition remains bad. On the phone, they attempted to quote "insurance" as the troublemaker for proceeding with surgery, but they also stated that the "therapeutic relationship" is no longer there, which does not give me or New York State an opportunity to see any outcome to any complaint resolution process I am engaging in. These horrendous facts aside, they have terminated the "therapeutic relationship" with no prior notice, and told me to find someone else. There are virtually (or truly) no other oral & maxillofacial surgeons in NYC I can obtain treatment with that take my (or most people's) insurance plan(s). Dr. Farag does not even make TMJ splints, making her appointments, if by themselves, just about useless. This entire practice should be shut down and everyone who played a part in this several month long con stripped of their qualifications.

I had an accident recently, lots of blood and needed to see an oral facial surgeon urgently and THANK GOD Dr. Farag squeezed me in for an emergency appt. I don’t remember much but I know she’s good at what she does, i dont care if she may be straightforward and stern, i just need a good doctor who’s good at what they do. She was still nice tho. Would not have want to go to someone else, thank you doc!

Dr. Farag is an exceptional surgeon and an even better person. There is no better surgeon I would entrust myself, my friends or family with.

I had a biopsy completed by Dr. Farag and she ensured that I was comfortable throughout the process. She then had me come back a few weeks later to check on my healing and reviewed the result with me. Couldn't have asked for much more 👍

Dr. Maryam Farag placed an implant for me. I was awake the whole time and she was magnificent. The needles needed to get me numb were painless and trust me when I say, I am a big baby when it comes to that!! Throughout the whole procedure she was so attentive to me and how I was feeling and asking me if I was okay. I could see my implant on an x-ray and it seemed perfectly placed to allow a tooth to fit nicely between two teeth. If you want quality work you should see her.
