List of Modern Integrative Psychiatry's Reviews
I see Alexandra Straaik and she's by far the best psychiatry practitioner I've ever worked with. I have met many a psychiatrist who rushes you through appointments and throws an RX your way without truly getting to know you; she really takes the time to understand your concerns and find the best solution. I always feel confident in her suggestions and know I'm in good hands.
I have been seen at this practice for years now and have had regularly scheduled appointments at the intervals recommended by my provider. My last appointment was in February and I booked my follow up appointment on Feb 10 for a time in early May. My appointment that was supposed to be in early May was cancelled by the practice on March 18th. I rescheduled my appointment that very same day for a date later in May that worked with my schedule. However, I realized in mid-May that I was going to run out of a medication prior to this rescheduled appointment. I reached out to my provider to let her know that my next appointment was within the next week but I'd need my refill before then. I was met with a prescription sent to my non-preferred pharmacy with only a 7-day fill. Also, my provider sent me the practice policy of requiring a visit every 3 months in order to place refills. I found this incredibly disrespectful and ignorant, considering that I was forced to reschedule my appointment outside of the 3 month policy due to them cancelling my original appointment. And I wasn't egregiously over the 3 month time frame; by the time my appointment was rescheduled, I would have been 105 days between appointments. This whole experience read as wildly unprofessional and uncompassionate to me. I work a full-time job and had originally booked an appointment that worked with my schedule and would have allowed for timely refills and no gap in medication coverage. By the time my appointment was cancelled by the practice, there was limited availability for rescheduling a day that the provider and myself were available. It's difficult to get an appointment at this practice that works for my schedule with any less than 3 months notice, so I usually book my follow up appointments shortly after I am seen. There was a complete lack of understanding for the situation on the part of the practice and the provider. Safe to say I won't be returning back to this practice. They can keep their policies and I'll take my healthcare elsewhere.
This office has decided to use AI to scrape data from video visits with doctors at their practice. Initially they said it would just be on during visits by default with you having to opt out. When pressing them about it I found out that they are trying to consent but cannot guarantee that they would be getting my consent and that I should bring up that I do not want to have my information scraped and fed to AI during my visit. Worst part of this event wasn't even the wildly unclear messaging, but the staff member who was rude and unprofessional answering my questions and concerns about my video visits being scraped and data collected by AI. Added the initial posting they made as well as the conversation I had with staff to this review.
Really grateful for the way the practice and Alex takes care of my daughter! Thank you so much!
I’ve been a patient of Christina Ercole, PMHNP, for about three years at MIP; that’s the longest I’ve ever had the same mental health practitioner. As someone who’s carried lifelong psychiatric diagnoses, I can say with confidence that care of this quality is rare – even in the City. I know so many people that struggle with their own mental health; I feel fortunate to be established with this practice.
Dr. Straaik is a fantastic listener, patient and very knowledgable. She has a breadth of information she is able to recommend for all kinds of psychiatric approaches, beyond and inclusive of medication. Every appointment with Alex has felt like I was in good and capable hands.
I have been working with Alex Straaik a for over 2 years and she has been beyond helpful! She is patient, empathetic, and extremely knowledgeable. She really takes time to listen to me and does not jump to any conclusions, she remains open to different treatments and paths, and I really feel that she cares about me and is very present when we meet. She really works to treat me as a whole person.
I can’t recommend them more- top down a really efficient and caring team. I’ve worked with Christina Ercole for several years now and she is empathic, knowledgeable, and responsive.
Dr. Rodriguez is great. She got me in within a week and has been so helpful in finding the right medications.
I have been seeing Alex at Modern Integrative Psychiatry and I can't recommend her enough. Alex is incredibly compassionate and thorough and always makes me feel heard and understood. Alex takes the time to carefully assess my needs and tailor a treatment plan that has made a significant difference in my mental health.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
