Review Summary
Mount Sinai Union Square garnered predominantly negative reviews, with only a small fraction being positive due to praise for certain caring doctors. However, the majority of feedback criticized the practice for billing issues, long wait times, and poor staff professionalism. Overall, while individual doctors may provide excellent care, the clinic needs better time management and streamlined administrative procedures.ScoreDoc Score

Can't even begin to describe the belittling treatment I received here. Doctors lied on my records, refused to change them or even converse about it, gaslit me, and the entire time I was 100% correct about my diagnosis. An autoimmune reaction turned into a serious advanced condition over the course of 2.5 yrs because nobody believed me about my body. After ER attending Dr. Mikhly profiled me, he marked my chart-"treatment or diagnosis severely limited by social determinants of health." SDoH are meant to help people, but he used them to deem me unworthy of treatment, while also releasing liability from MSBI. I was dismissed by every doctor thereafter. These discriminatory practices caused me great pain and suffering, and permanent physicals harm.
Had to fly to NYC the morning 8/20 for a family matter and had an unfortunate accident 90 minutes before leaving for the airport. A heavy item fell on my foot leaving a nicked vain and a good deal of pain. Was able to get the bleeding to stop, wrapped the foot tightly in coban and managed to make my flight. Upon arriving in NYC immediately went to Mount Sinai Urgent Care in Union Square, which was close to my hotel. On a positive note, I was seen very quickly and it was determined I needed an x-ray (note: No wheelchair, no assistance). I had to hobble down hallways and use elevators to get from where the PA saw me to X-ray and back again. The PA did nothing for the wound outside of pressing down on it not once, but twice, and then seemed surprised when I flinched. X-rays came back incredibly quickly and I was told no break. After being hit with ~$300 in fees for basically nothing (including an improper diagnosis), I now am dealing with a fracture which was easily picked up in an x-ray at a podiatrists office, and confirmed via an MRI. Next step is likely a CT scan because I've walked on the injured foot so long, it's getting worse vs healing. While I understand that fractures can be missed, there's a difference between care and a facility that simply collects fees. The PA never suggested that perhaps my foot was too swollen to pick up the fracture in the initial x-ray. She did nothing to even consider that I had a wound that took me 50 minutes to stop bleeding (which I told her). She offered me an ace bandage which if I used there would have been no way to get my sandal back on (and it was raining out all day/night). An awful, de-humanizing facility. IF you have a cold, I'm sure they cannot be that inept and it may be just fine to go to this facility. IF you feel you have a serious injury, go to the nearest emergency room. The level of knowledge and experience at this facility is not who you want to rest your health with.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Trust the other reviews and do not go here. I got an appointment to get the Yellow Fever vaccine at Mount Sinai since they bill through insurance. I spoke to my insurance company multiple times, they spoke to Mount Sinai's billing department, and I spoke to Dr. Gomez's nurse to get the three billing codes under which my service would be charged. The billing department and the nurse conveniently didn't disclose that the service would be billed under the same billing code through Mount Sinai AND the provider. Billed twice for the same, new patient office visit: they're trying to charge me double for the same exact service. I have submitted an appeal through my insurance since this information was never disclosed to me, but would not recommend anyone go here. Their double billing practice is very deceptive and clearly intended to squeeze money out of patients. Update as of 7/29: I emailed Patient Relations myself, and the billing department through my Mount Sinai portal, and received a response from neither. Update as of 8/26: Mount Sinai commented on my Google review that they'd be reaching out and no one reached out to me. I will be filing an appeal through my insurance, and reporting them to the NYS Department of Health, and Attorney General's office.
10 union sq -multiple dr's office. I had very dizzy day and couldn't walk....... The medical assistants aren't helpful at all. Ice cold. They forced me to walk alone instead of bringing me a wheelchair. Other Dr's office, in general, they are supposed to either walk together slow or bring wheelchair as well as ask how i feel etc......... they just like to chat not caring. How do they get this job by the way????? And Dr didn't want to order anything. Next day, I was still dizzy, I was offered to take iron from M Y F R I E N D......... and my dizziness went away all of the sudden. Dr won't know what causes that but my F R I E N D does! security guards are pretty rude. but I still know that very few PA are nice. Some workers 1st language are Spanish and they won't understand questions so I needed to go over and over again at least 10 times and I changed to explain differently but he still didn't get it. At 10 union sq mt Sinai trying to close down? Loosing customers! Realize it!
My son is a patient of the allergy clinic here. His provider is only on site on Tuesdays but that works well for us. I love her bedside manner and how well all staff treats me and my son. Everyone is so friendly and nice, super informative as well. The clinic is clean and at a prime location very close to the train so it's easy to get to from the Bronx.
A few months ago I wrote a 5 star review of MS Union Square East. I wrote the review because the service, professionalism, care and understanding was A +. As of late for some unknown reason I have had the most difficult and frustrating time trying to get an appointment with my cardiologist. I was told the doctor was away and that my message would be forwarded, no response back I called the doctors office and was then told she would call me back in a day or so by the receptionist, not heard back, then again I contacted the Cardiology Dept. which also said they would call me back for an appointment and still have not heard back. I contacted Patient Services and the woman there was Wonderful and tried to assist me but evidently it didn't do anything. Not her fault though. I finally realized MS Cardiology doesn't care point blank. I DON'T RECOMMEND MS UNION SQUARE EAST FOR CARDIOLOGY, extremely unforgivable, unprofessional and never assist their patients....
I had a lovely in-person initial visit with Dr. Seong, but apart from that I cannot recommend deciding to go to Mount Sinai for your PCP. There is no reason for a patient to have to call, and call, and call her doctors office for answers and help on multiple issues after 13 days of her messages going unanswered, only for both the provider and assistant to send messages after such time to express the necessity to make an appointment to discuss further care, and the messages can't be replied to..and when you call the number to talk to them, there is no direct line to the office. Respectfully, make that make sense. I understand how these things work from behind the scenes administratively from years of experience both in large hospitals and smaller practices, both private and public--this was negligent. I would be happy to go into further depth/elaborate further in a private message, but please use your discernment ESPECIALLY if you or a loved one is elderly or disabled and cannot advocate for themselves as thoroughly as I have with this office. I have a lot of respect for everyone in the medical field, especially Patient Coordinators who are on the front lines on phones as I did that work for years and I told all those girls how lovely they were in accepting my grief with this situation for days on end, but something has gone awry in this particular office. Not even after the issue was escalated to management and I let them know that I would leave an honest review and precisely WHEN I would leave the review did they call me at an appropriate hour. One might assume by this lack of communication is either that the Practice Manager is very busy or doesn't care at all, or both, but either way there has been a lapse in communication. While I empathize, as a patient with plenty of documentation to record of the way this entire series of events played out, I feel convicted to speak out in hopes that this facility changes its practices. This isn't how you treat your patients; the fact that a hospital system has this kind of irresponsible communication with a patient with a grievance is incredibly concerning. Timely communication is respectful, and I have been nothing but respectful to everyone involved that I've spoken to on the phone in spite of extenuating circumstances that go beyond my physical health. I deserve respect too, but I'll give it to myself by speaking my truth here; there will be no sweeping this under the rug, the rug is being aired out. I pray that Mount Sinai Union Square and Mount Sinai on a whole finds a way to communicate more effectively with their patients and not leave them on delivered for almost 2 weeks; suffice it to say, I will not be returning or ever recommending this facility ever.
Upon walking into the establishment 4L for my annual mammo. Walked in and the gentleman Michael Robles at the front desk was looking at me like I had 7 heads. No greeting no hello. No welcome. So I said Hello. He then said hello. I'm like usually when one enters a place the front desk greets them - he stated I said hello - I said no you didn't - cause if he did - he said it so no one could hear. It was probably due to me more than likely being one of the last appointments for the day. But not quite the greeting I was expecting. So had a 4:45 appt and had to make someone aware that I was waiting at 5:23 in order for me to get inside and change into a gown. The woman who attended to me was very apologetic and thanked me for my patience. She did state that Michael did not let her know I was outside waiting when he stepped in to tell her goodnight. But I was very happy with how Yesela treated me with care and was very attentive and even remembered me from 2023. Nice seeing a familiar friendly face here.
Saw ENT Dr. Anthony Del Signore. From start to finish, and 5 star experience. When you're feeling awful and haven't gotten relief for a while, this was a very pleasant surprise. All paperwork was digital that I filled out from home. Staff greeted me with a smile and reviewed the paperwork quickly. Taken 30 minutes early. Staff was very empathetic, read the paperwork, and was super thorough. The doctor is young, intelligent, and ticked off all the questions I had written down before coming. At no point did I feel rushed. His staff met with me afterward to go over treatment in detail and provided step by step instructions to me. They encouraged me to call at any point. The doctor saw me on the way out and said to DM him in a week to let him know how I'm doing. Location is ideally located a minute walk from the 14th Street station with many subway lines. Love this practice! I highly recommend it. EMR syncs with many other hospitals in NYC like NYP, CORNELL, NYU, etc.
Had such a great experience here yesterday. Nobody wants to get knee surgery, but the staff here made it such a positive experience. Every single person I interacted with - and there were probably 10 - was kind, caring and professional. They explained each step of the procedure thoroughly, and really humanized the experience. Whenever something is wrong with your health, you feel vulnerable - I so greatly appreciated the wonderful people at Mount Sinai!
