If I were hit by a car outside I’d drag my broken body up First Ave to Bellevue or NYU. I’ve advocated for 2 different neighbors of mine with mental impairments to get care in the ER. After one reported the staff verbally abused him before kicking him out, I offered to come with and was also harassed and shouted at in a bizarre manner that turned heads of everyone within earshot. Took him up the street to Bellevue, no attitude from the staff, just treatment. I thought maybe I caught a staff member on a bad night and tried to help someone check into detox there. After 6 hours in the ER a staff member threw a piece of paper at me with a list of other detox centers and gave us no reason not to admit them then walked away. Everyone I know who has gone there had a similar experience. I’m really not sure what is wrong with the staff at this hospital. I can’t speak to the level of treatment provided once admitted because I don’t know anyone who has gotten more than their BP taken in the ER before being ejected.
I really love this hospital! I came to the ER because my daughter Ainsley was in and out of consciousness due to high fevers. She was in the ambulance because she suffered a seizure, the neurologist told me and my wife that Ainsley has stage 3 ATRT, which is a aggressive brain tumor. I didn’t know if she was dying or not. They did a emergency surgery to remove the tumor. Then my daughter needed chemotherapy. I was shocked when Ainsley lost her hair, it was terrible. The EMT’s and the ER doctors took her to the ICU, and she had 3 additional brain surgeries. But the tumor keeps on coming back. She had seizures when she was 3 years old. Doctors said she might not make it. I see that Ainsley’s sister Wendy wanted to visit her in the ICU. Well, Ainsley is a little fighter. She doesn’t give up! She recovered after her first surgery. Also, she was having bloody noses, coughs, and runny noses. We were at the clinic when we got a diagnosis. Also, she needed a prescription for bloody noses. She also had a bone marrow transplant. We thought she is going to die. Thank you, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, for saving our daughter’s live.
Based on my experience at emergency room....the nurses are the only ones that are working. The doctors are all " busy" talking and laughing with each other talking about " real issues" in life and the old African man at the security doesnt speak one word in English, you need to explain him 7 times
Please do not come in this hospital for whatever reason, nurses are lazy and no doctor on site to watch over the patient. My mom is bleeding on the chest and it seems like the whole floor don’t care a lot.
A nurse made me fall in this hospital and told me it's my fault. In disabled in a wheelchair and there rude
Thanks for all doctors, nurses and crew members. You are amazing.
I can’t believe I actually give a 5 stars to a hospital but after suffering from an infection in my leg and mistreated by in Inexperience doctor when visiting one of the urgent care providers the doctors in this ER did a great job. It was very painful but at the end of the night I got out much better than I came in. 3 days later the paint was almost gone. I could walk again! I just got the bill -$1,053 which was a lot less than I thought it will be 😀
They treat me really well. Always polite, work with me not against me. When I was there 6 years ago. (5stars) Today there are a few who aren’t nice in the ER, but a few who were nice through out. I want to give a shout out to one who is…Kathleen McKenna who I want to say I appreciate your kindness. The care that you gave was above and beyond and though they are some not so nice people in the ER you are and your amazing. Thank you for being you.
Rude staff. The last thing the nurse assistant told me as I left is if you leave anything I'm throwing it away. I went there for my surgery. Nurse N and nurse J were so nice ☺️. One nurse got mad at me and barged in my room with an attitude because I called my Dr because she wouldn't give me stronger pain meds. Over my 2 day stay she was nicer. The discharge was a mess. Never use galant car service. I had to wait for 3 different cars. The old black man with glasses that transports patients is rude and seems a little slow in the head. He barged in my room and told me your ride her. You need to come on. Take in mind I had a iv still in my arm and hadn't been discharged yet. I heard him going in the hallway and start talking about me to the nurses. I understand we have an opioid epidemic but nurses shouldn't deprive patients of their meds. It says as needed. If I'm in pain I need it. I was discharged with no antibiotics, pain meds, or anything. Fortunately my pharmacy said they can fed ex my meds tomorrow. Mount Sinai pay your nurses more and make sure they do sensitivity training every month.
I went here right now with suicidal thoughts&left with suicidal thoughts. Only difference is now my phone battery is dead&I'm lost&confused. I was hoping to feel more mentally&physically stable because been feeling physically unwell&think it's messing me up extra. I thought they could help with both but they helped with nothing but guess least got anti nausea meds from a previous hospital I started feeling physically worse in,easy fix for them to do but impossible for me to do on my own. Guess I'm gonna stay on the streets cause I don't wanna go back to where I'm currently staying feeling like this. I walked around all day for nothing&feel like absolute garbage¬ forgetting about the people that messed me up so much&traumatized me in the 1st place that I'm like this.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
