New Welling Physical Therapy And Acupuncture Clinic's Online Review Report Card

I was introduced to this clinic by my sister, and I am happy to say my experience has only been good. I have come here multiple times in the last few years to treat knots in my body and tendonitis in my arms and hands. Dr Zhang and the massage therapist can speak Cantonese and Mandarin, and can understand some basic English. For specific questions in English, using a translation app would be useful. You can make an appointment beforehand, but I think they mainly take patients via walk-in, so wait times can be up in the air. Seeing the doctors here is definitely worth any kind of wait! I always go for the combo treatment (massage, acupuncture, cupping, and electrode therapy)!

The doctor and the receptionist are not respecting people’s time. And I found the receptionists are extremely rude and got such a horrible attitude ! But the doctor is actually nice and skillful. We made reservations at 9am many times, and sometimes only couple minutes late cuz the traffic. And then you need to wait for 2 hours to get in, additionally, there is no order at all, sometimes when people come later than you , but they just got in before you despite you have waited for hours already!!!!

I genuinely cannot stop talking about this place! I came in for early onset carpel tunnel in my hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders and just by looking at my arms they knew exactly where the pain was and what to do. I received massage, acupuncture, electrode therapy, heat therapy, and a treatment plan with such attentive care. I had many questions about other areas of concern and the doctor was very specific on what to eat and not to. Without doing any tests he knew my 8 constitution body type. Very sterile and clean place. Saw immediate results and felt immediately better. I’ve been dealing with my carpel tunnel for about a year trying massages, stress balls, & different massage guns, yet in one session with Dr Zhong I’ve never felt better. I’m excited for my next appointment! Thank you so much

Doctor Zhang is very experienced with Chinese traditional medicine. I visited for my spraining knee from snowboarding. His team treated me with acupuncture, cupping and tuina (message). The bruise immediately looked much better than before and appeared lighter than before. I would recommend Doctor Zhang to my friends! Attached the new office hour for COVID.

Well, I guess everyone's mileage really varies. I stumbled upon this PT accidently a couple of years ago -- my Doctor had actually referred me to Wellington PT which is in the same building when I had arm injury from a bike accident. I received rigorous massage, instruction on routine exercises and acupuncture for a couple of months. This time around, I hurt my back after excessive workout and I somehow managed to mix up the two again, but after having visited both for my back pain, I'm probably going to stick with Welling PT. All I need are basic massage and cupping for my lower back muscle pain, and cupping is miraculously effective in relieving pain for about 2-3 weeks. I received fairly decent treatment on my trial -- I immediately got better after the 1st visit. I'm still a acupuncture skeptic -- tried it before, but didn't really seem to improve my condition much -- so I'll stay away from it.

Update: As a courtesy to the provider's privacy, I have removed my acupuncturist's name from this review. I am writing a factual review that is relevant to the business and my consumer experience at this clinic. My acupuncturist put needles in my head. I told him it's hurting more than the first two times when I did this with him. He said it's supposed to hurt. Ok... I didn't argue with him. In fact, I trusted him that's why I chose to come here. After he took the needles out, my head was in a ton of pain! I was laying face down so I asked him if there are any more needles left, he told me to feel for the needles myself. I find this absurd. He is the acupuncturist. He owes his patients responsibility and obligation. So why can't he answer his patient's important yet simple question? He is standing over me so obviously he can see the needles and I can't. Why can't he tell me if there are more needles left on my head?!! He told me to feel for it myself. Anyone hear how ridiculous he sounds? He's the specialist, not me. What if, in fact, there was a needle or two left on my head? I don't want to touch it. I don't want to hurt myself. Then I asked him if my head is bleeding because it's in a ton of pain. He again told me to feel my head for any blood and he even rubbed my head roughly which left me in an immense amount of pain! I jerked away from him on the massage table, cringing, and grabbed the paper bed sheet pulling it over my head. To be honest, I feel bullied by him. I'm a regular here and he was never like this before, I don't know why he's so rude, unprofessional, and such a bully today. The first two times I had acupuncture on my head I could easily get up after it was done. This time I had to hold the paper bed sheet over my head for a while and couldn't move. When I finally touch my head there was blood all over my hand. I told him to come in and showed him. He said I'm supposed to bleed and that's good. No, it's not good. It's not natural bleeding. Plus I looked it up, you're only supposed to bleed one dot of blood after acupuncture. That's normal. I have a whole river of blood running from the center of my head down to my forehead. That is not supposed to happen if you did it correctly. He has the balls to say "it's only a little bit of blood, you're too sensitive" (in Cantonese). Excuuuuuuuse me?!?!?? How did you just put the blame on me???! You make it sound like it's my fault now! That I'm too sensitive because I'm bleeding and in pain after what you've done??? I'm pretty sure he has bad eyes and couldn't see well which caused him to place the needles in the WRONG spots and that's why I'm bleeding. He offered to clean the blood. I said no. I'm going home and showing people. You are not destroying the evidence. I was furious with him. I should've filed a complaint like the Yelper who commented before me did. When I got home, my head was still hurting for 30mins-1hr. I was holding my hand over it the whole time. It has been about 12 hours now and I could still feel small pains occasionally. Seriously if he did it correctly it's not supposed to be like this.

Please don't go to this place for your own safety. They have two locations; I went to the Flushing location - 132-35 41st Rd. 1G, Flushing, 11355. I went in to treat my chronic neck and head pain which has been causing migraines occasionally. A man did the acupuncture for me. I was lying face down so I didn't know what happened but I started experiencing extremely sharp pain at the base of my head. I asked the man to take the needles out because it was extremely painful, but he refused. I endured it for a few more minutes before the pain was too much and I started crying. However, the man not only refused but called me crazy and mentally deranged. After half an hour, he removed my needles, but it started bleeding and hurt even more than before. I asked the manager to call the hospital because it was too much pain but he ignored me. Finally the female doctor, Alice Zhang, came out and begged me not to tell anybody about it in fear that they would be sued for malpractice. I found out that the man who did my acupuncture was unlicensed. I just left and went to the hospital. Their horrible treatment still affects me today; it has been at least 4-5 months since I went but I still have constant headaches that are even worse than before.

This shady place has moved to suite 318 now. I went in for neck, shoulder and back pain. The guy who did acupuncture kept saying i have a headache and put so many needles on my head. The needles left my head in pain. After I complained, he removed some needles. There were very little needles on my neck and shoulder which are my problem areas. The guy didn't come to remove my needles until after for almost an hour I complained that I can't take it anymore, when he removed my needles, he caused bleeding on my head and on my face. I was horrified. He insisted that bleeding is normal and is good for me. He put all the needles in a big jar right next to my face. If he knocks down the jar, all the needles will fall on my face. When it was time for massage, this guy named Mike came in. After I told him about my problem areas, he started massaging my whole body and kept on putting his hands on my butt. He told me I have problem in that area. At one point, something touched my hand and it felt like his penis with an erection. I wasn't sure since I was lying face down and I felt disgusted. In the end, he put his hands on my butt again for a closing pleasure. I called cops to confront the guy. The manager there claimed that he doesn't speak English and explained to me that my butt is a spot. She even went on saying she had men massage her breasts and that's totally fine because that's a spot too. I was disgusted. The cops were useless and told me they can't do anything about it. I already filed a complaint on Better Business Bureau. Don't go to this place. They do a bad job and sexual harass customers.

Stay away, a chop shop that causes harm. No licenses, no doctors, just women speaking Chinese dispensing 'treatment'. I left bruised and burned.
