Dr. Pereira is an extremely compassionate, and educated Dr with excellent bedside manner. Takes time to answer all questions thoroughly. Highly recommend.

He is a very responsive doctor to patients' questions and concerns. However, to be his patient, you have to be very active otherwise you will be left in the unknown. He will never take the initiatives to explain the treatment plan/iui plan/ivf protocol only if you ask. So if you are an inexperienced patient who did not know what are the important questions to ask, I would not recommend this doctor. ...

You are just a number. I recommend you look elsewhere if you are 45 and above. Don’t expect a reply from any email on concerns/questions you may have as a patient after leaving the office. Such a pity and a waste of my time mentally and physically.

His nurse team always gives confusing information and makes so many mistakes during the treatment. He and his team will not call you with results and explanations at the end of the treatment. You have to guess what happened which is ridiculous. I would not recommend this doctor.

So here is an update about my experience with Dr. Nigel Pereira. We are back to square one after almost a year where we did 4 Iui and one IVF with him ( 3 IVFs in total now ). I wish I would not have chosen purely based on fertilityiq ratings. Dr Pereira was an absolute Godsend. He made the process easy and we felt cared for during the journey. Highly recommended.

This is not a review of their service but more about the process of setting up the initial appointment. Dr. Pereira’s assistant Yazmin booked the appointment for me where she gave instructions to fill out forms, send my insurance card via email, etc etc . Everything was done. She called me to confirm my appointment couple of days prior and I asked if I need to do anything else form my end and the answer was no. The day of my appointment the front desk receptionist tells me to check with my insurance if my fertility/infertility benefits were covered by a third party insurance (through Aetna) called Progyny. Mind you, Yazmin failed to mention this to me during our two short phone conversations. They had the audacity to say all the instructions were written in the email and Progyny was mentioned in the email. No, there was no mention of the instructions they are verbally speaking of and Progyny was not mentioned in the email. Part of your job is to book appointments properly and to make sure patients are covered. I’m happy to check anything else if the instructions were given to me . But as a patient, who’s not familiar with insurance policies, you as the expert should know otherwise since you deal with all sorts of insurances daily as a part of your job. Please change the language in your email confirmation and be more detailed with patients when you book appointments. I was excited to see Dr. Pereira through a recommendation. Heard very nice things about him and his bedside manners. It’s unfortunate I wasn’t able to see him . I think I would have been less disappointed had they mentioned Progyny or it was checked prior to me taking the time to visit and waste couple of hours. Also, I had to wait a month for this appointment. If I knew in advance it was not going to work out, I would have been searching for another doctor. It was just a waste of time all around.

Dr. Pereira is amazing! He was my gynecologist from 2017-2020 when I lived and worked in NYC. Office at Weill Cornell is immaculate, and I don't recall ever waiting past my appointment time to be seen. Honestly, I had such a great experience with him and his team that I'm considering planning a yearly NYC trip to get my annual exams done with him! Great bedside manner, and extremely skilled doctor. Maggie, his nurse/assistant/office manager?, is also amazing. She always promptly returns calls. If it wasn't already obvious, I highly recommend going to Dr. Pereira!

Couldn't recommend Dr. Pereira more. He is a very knowledgeable RE and explained everything in detail to us. He was very accessible via email and made us feel beyond comfortable in his care. After a few tries naturally with medication, we decided to move to IUI and the second try was successful. After graduation from his care, he checked up on me, as well as during the pandemic. I have a healthy baby girl and I am so grateful for his care through the process.

I have been a patient of Dr. Pereira's for 3 years, including during Covid. His bedside manner is the best I have ever received from any doctor. I've had him respond to my late night emails the same evening as well as personal phone calls to answer questions verbally. He is extremely knowledgeable and caring -- he always takes the time to answer any questions and make sure you fully understand. I cannot speak more highly of him. The entire staff is attentive and sensitive. The office is always running on time and I have never had to wait for an appointment.
